Price check - Sea Wolf - 1000th post extravaganza! OMGWTFBBQ!!!

*EDIT* Got one! Big thanks to all the PMs, phone calls, and emails. You guys are awesome!

Alright, I'm in talks to land my coveted Sea Wolf. I don't want to overpay, but I'm also not looking to give someone else the short end of the stick.

What's a fair price for a fully-working Sea Wolf in a solid cabinet that looks to have pretty clean artwork? I've honestly never seen one for sale. They're usually broken or beat to Hell. Exidy's guide says $100-$200, but that sounds awfully low. I'm thinking it's probably more in the $400-$650 range for a working machine, depending on condition. Agree? Disagree?

Also, I'm waiting to hear back on a shipping quote, but I was unsure of the weight. How much does one of these magnificent bastards weigh? The flyer has the dimensions, but I couldn't find the weight. I'm assuming somewhere between 300-400lbs. These suckers are tall, and I think they have a 23" monitor.

It's very tall and very top heavy. If you are able to get the seller to slide the step off and strap it to the top or something you'd be better off maybe? Maybe not, but I'd be worried about the step being damaged or ripped off in shipping. I paid $300 + a semi-working EM game for mine, but then had to turn around and drop $150 into it to get it working correctly. I also had to drive 400 miles round trip. I'd say working and in good cosmetic shape it's a $600 game easy, especially if the boards and monitor have been rebuilt and are bullet-proofed.

Prices can be all over the place. It'd take a bg number for me to get rid of mine, which is in excellent shape. The periscope is the best Ive ever played.

Having said that, working boardsets easily go for $200+.

Good luck and I hope you get it. Im looking for the modern Sea Wolf to add along side it

I'm working on a deal for one of these too. The seller and I were talking about $200-$300. The boards were repaired but I believe there are some other issues, so the game is considered non-working. I need to clear out some space before I grab it.

I love the new Sea Wolf. Best modern sit-down wide screen sequel to a classic game I've ever seen.

Someone recently offered me $1000 for my SW, but I'm not selling. They seem to be kinda hot lately. I'd easily pay $500 for a working one in fairly good shape. But that's just me....

Let's see...

Warlords cocktail
Mad Planets
Secret sliding bookshelf entrance to the zombiecade
Now Sea Wolf???

Did you hit the lottery, or something?

Nope. I sold my Bram Stoker's Dracula pin and some old vinyl records on ebay to finance Warlords.

I sold my Donkey Kong and Holosseum to finance Mad Planets.

Uncle Sam's tax refund is going to pay for Sea Wolf and my secret entrance to the arcade.

So, I logged into KLOV tonight and I saw that one of my threads was recently replied to. So, I clicked the link. WAIT A SECOND!!! I don't own a Sea Wolf. WTF?!?!? My attorneys will be in touch. All of them.

Yesterday was great! I got PMs, emails, and even a couple of phone calls about Sea Wolf. You guys are the best!

I wound up not buying the machine that inspired this thread yesterday morning- but it appears to be very nice- so if anyone wants that lead, send me a PM.

A fellow KLOVer PM'd me yesterday afternoon and offered me a great price on a fully-working Sea Wolf that looks to be in great shape. He sent me tons of pics and even called me up so that I could hear that awesome "piiiing." Paypal sent. Done deal. Now I just have to finalize shipping with NAVL.

Again, I want to thank everyone here who gave me leads, tips, and advice... And of course my biggest thanks goes to the KLOVer who worked out a deal with me.

I'll post a new thread with lots of pics when it arrives.
