Price Check please: Satans Hollow

I'm sure someone will try, but there really isn't any justifying pulling this shit. I'm pretty amazed how easily people will break their word for cash.

Edit: well...not amazed...I just thought someone's word was supposed to mean something.

Guy tells me in email he will take 100$ for it, I call him when I get off work to go pick it up and he says he gonna need 150-200$ for it. I said good luck and hung up. I dont have time to play games, Ill pass on it even if I want it badly

That's pride fucking with you. You're talking about a $50 to $100 difference for something you want badly. Not a big price to pay to eliminate any regrets later down the line.

I think ill manage its more than just that when gas is involved and i had a budget to stick to. I get paid on friday, if its still there I might go get it, if its gone it wasnt meant to be

That's cool. I'm of the opinion that if I want something *badly*, I'll throw in more cash to seal the deal.

I'm of the opinion to tell the guy to get fucked for backing out of his word. Just because someone wants it badly doesnt justify a price jump. However if I REALLY wanted it, I would tell him my $100 offer will still stand in a few weeks when/if it doesnt sell.

Whenever I hear of a broken game I typically tell people they are worth $50 and haggle from there based on what game it is, condition, complete and so on.

obviously what he did was wrong but maybe he is in a position where that extra fifty bucks makes a big difference, i know i dont usually sell stuff on craigslist personally unless times are super tight. its not an excuse for his behavior, but if its something you really want and think someone else might quickly snatch up for the money i would still suggest buying it before its gone. sure it might sit for a few weeks, or maybe someone will gladly pay the extra couple bucks and then what did you do? it doesnt hurt him any if it sells for $150 to someone other than yourself...

People value something like an arcade machine more than they value someone's word. That's why sellers feel like they can pull this shit.

Well done. Props to you.

Agree 100%. It was a dick move on the seller's part. I try not to reward bad behavior.

Ditto.

I'd have done the same.

(Also I'd then keep an eye open at Craigslist and be prepared to call from another number just in case). :D

I drove 900 miles (almost to Chicago) RT and paid $340 for mine, but it was in immaculate shape and working. I had heard of the game, thought the theme was bad-ass and HAD to have one. Never played it BITD, but I didn't have to. The game is just gorgeous to have around. As to your situation, I would have politely passed, in a nice way, giving him the opportunity to do the right thing before I hung up. Even if he decided not to, I'd still be nice about it. No need to let a hot head burn bridges.

i'd see if i can get some more pics and a description of what it does. if you are lucky it's probably just a interlock switch or a bad power supply. if the cab and everything else is in good cosmetic shape, i'd jump on it for that price. just depends on how much you want it, i suppose.

I paid a bit more for mine, traveled from Buffalo to Chicago to get it from Takeman, his game room was worth the trip. Very nice guy and awesome arcade building.
