Price Check: Phoenix UR

You should go for it, its in very nice shape. I have very nice Pheonix also and its probly the last game in my collection I would ever let go. Wierd I know but i played that game allot as a kid and it is fun a nd the music brings back memories.

Yay, I got some pics. And brothers & sisters, it looks pretty damn nice.

This is the first Phoenix I've ever seen locally that isn't ragged out. I have no problem with the asking price at all.

(Now to get some transportation...)

It looks great. Probably a little nicer then mine. The one question I always have about this game is the front panel. Wood grain or black? Mine has wood grain, this one is black, I have seen them both pretty frequently. Did someone just paint them black or did they come like that from the factory?

If it was a super deal it would already be gone.

I guess it depends on how bad you want the game. Looks like it doesn't need much work and your financial risk is pretty minimal.

It's not like it's hugely expensive. There has been someone trying to sell a Phoenix here for $1,495 for what seems to be a couple of years. I'd guess that person actually paid that much money for it and doesn't want to admit they got taken.

CL ad RJ is talking about:

And yeah, it's been up forever. Guy is very, very patient. Two years is probably right, and he started out at over 2k. This guy and the guy with the $450 Pengo with no side art on one side, they are the current Patience title holders for SoCal CL.

I think it's a fun game, too. Go get that baby. For transportation, I like this method:

I paid $150.00 for my phoenix and it's in great shape, just needed a new CPO, which I just picked up from Quarter Arcade. Probably won't invest any more money into it, but I will work on the small details like repainting brackets and coin doors.

Nobody gives phoenix the respect it deserves! I love mine and it will be with me for awhile. Artwork is in my top 3, next to galaxian and pac-man.

If it was a super deal it would already be gone.

And after being for sale for 3 years, it is indeed gone.

I was all set to get it today, and this morning I had a reply from the seller informing me that the game was sold to "another guy from Tennessee" yesterday.

Guess I shouldn't have wasted time working on getting a trailer or anything. I had NO idea that anybody else had even been looking at it. I kinda wish I had been informed of that. :-(

I saw the game in question and it was worth every bit the asking price. Next time, put down a deposit or pay in advance before you pick up, if it's someone you've dealt with, and aren't worried about getting ripped off. I waited around on picking up a $100 Strikes and Spares pin, from in front of a thrift store...went back that same day and it was gone!

Heck, that Boise one is pretty tempting to me. Probably should have picked it up when I was there a few weeks ago. No time for another trip out there right now though. :(

If you wants the preciousssssssss lets us know and we will picks it up for you and keeps it in our garages for the master. Just sends us the moneys...

Had I known the seller was working on a deal with someone else I would have inquired about making a pre-payment via PayPal or something. The way we've always handle our deals, was that I pay cash upon pickup. Despite an open line of communication with the seller for several days, I had no idea anyone else was even interested in it.

It's just my bad luck that the thing goes unsold for 3 years, and then, the day before I want go pick it up, it's gone.

Oh well.

Better luck next time // If at first you don't succeed, try, try again // Hang in there, baby // What doesn't kill us makes us stronger // etc., etc.
