Price check - partially working Tron

As rough as the cabinet is, you should make sure that the background art inside the cabinet is in good shape. I don't think it was reproduced.

If the areas were the t molding is missing is bad, its going to be very hard to repair.

I paid $300 for mine, in similar shape actually. It would not power up either. Found out the CPU board was fine by testing it in my Hollow, but the previous owners had the wrong linear power supply installed. I picked up the right power pcb for 11 bucks, and bought the rebuild kit for 20. I still have to restore the game, and have only purchased half the art work for it. TRONs are money pits.

I replaced my lights from bulbs I got from Home Depot and they are the correct ones for the game.

Here is the RGVAC post I was thinking of when I said that:
Marquee: std. white fluorescent
Backdrop: std. white fluorescent
Upper control panel: black light black (BLB) fluorescent
Lower control panel: black light white (BLW) fluorescent
The BLW is brighter, but is not safe/recommended for direct viewing (can UV
burn your eyes); the BLB bulb is darker, but safe for direct viewing.
Therefore, it is safe/suitable to substitute the BLW w/ a BLB, but not the
other way around.

The standard black light (which I guess is the BLB) I can see being at a home supply store or Wal-Mart. What about the black light white??? Seems odd to me, never had heard of it.

I have not had to look into it as of yet as my Tron is still in storage. Thankfully, its not in that bad a shape.

If you can't find them, I think ThisOldGame sells them. You'll have to contact Rich directly is his website is still not fully working.

I got my white tube black lights from Bulbster.com

FWIW, that's a rip off for that machine... and I actually like Tron. But the gameplay isn't the best feature (which isn't even working on his boards), the way the cabinet looks is what makes the game worth having... and when the artwork is beat up that bad, what's the point? If he want's more that $250, he's crazy. If he lists the boards correctly on ebay, he'll get maybe $60 for them on a good day... maybe another $60 for the complete CP, and $40 for the shroud. The rest of the items sell for next to nothing.

After he lists everything on Ebay, watch the items... when they're done selliing, shoot him a note and just say "$250's looking pretty good now isn't it?"

EDIT: Oh, about forgot, mamemarquees.com has the background art repro'd.

What is a good price range for a Tron that plays but is missing characters and no sound? Needs all new artwork, but that is not important to me as I would be replacing it all anyway. Cabinet is in decent shape - nothing that couldn't be restored.

I would not get that machine. Looks like it's even missing the back doors. :(

$100 max.
