Price check on X-Men 4 Player Arcade machine

Yup, that's the beaut of having an X-Men cab. The CP has 3 buttons so all the other 4 player games can be played on it as well. If I can ever get my 6-in-1 switcher PCB to friggin' work then I'll have X-Men/TMNT/Sunset Riders/Capt America and the Avengers/Simpsons (still haven't decided on that elusive 6th spot) all available for play in one cab.

Spider-man?

Spiderman is Sega System 32 and the Aux harness is different.
It also uses Start buttons were the Konami don't.

curious as to how much a dedicated turtles in time costs though.....someone has one an hour from me in pretty good shape........

Really depends on your area. The pcb alone is worth $150 (even on KLOV)

I Estimate the dedicated cab price to around $600

In my area it is worth much more. Easily $1000

The Turtles in Time PCB really shot up in value over the last year. I paid $100 for mine on here last summer, and I've seen them sell here since they in the $150 - $175 range, and the few I've seen on eBay have gone even higher than that. A dedicated Turtles in Time probably wouldn't be worth much more than that though, it has the ugliest side art of all time.

Don't pay more than $300 for that X-Men. It looks to be in similar shape to the Sunset Riders I picked up last year and paid $220 for.

This morning my wife and I went to pick up the machine and it was a no go. I spoke with the seller and he gave me a description of everything and I was fine with it. When we showed up the artwork had scribbles all across the reporters face, the CPO cover was stained and to top it off two of the four coin doors didn't work.

The monitor looked great and the joysticks that I was able to play responded well. I offered $250 but he turned it down thinking he could get $400 off Ebay.

That sucks, but you gotta know when to walk away. It's not the only tmnt or xmen in the world. Did he even counter offer? I swear people seem too mentally lazy now days to haggle. Maybe it's just me.

The bigger problem is all the idiot dealers that last their worthless crap games on eBay for hugely inflated prices, and people like the guy selling this machine see that and think their machine is worth way more than it really is, not realizing that those inflated prices on eBay aren't what the machine actually sold for.

He said he would go to $300 but I didn't feel comfortable with it considering I didn't know how much it would have cost to fix the coin doors to register quarters being put in. Plus a set of side art would run $189 so I remembered what you guys told me and knew I should pass.

Is $250 a fair price with all things considered?

Coin door not registering quarters isn't a big deal. It's kind of a default issue. Most of my machines initially have funky coindoor issues. I personally wouldn't worry about that too much. Everything else depends on how much you want to fix or live with. Is this your first machine by any chance? 250 is a good starting point to haggle. 300 is a nice compromise from 500 Imo. So, I mean... at that point it is up to you after evaluating the condition.

This will be my fourth machine, he's supposed to get back with me on it. I definitely want to replace the clear plastic over the cpo, replace the side art and get the coin doors to work properly. How much do you think that would run me?

There really isn't a whole lot to it. I mean worst case would be a new microswitch or run a new wire, right?

How difficult would that be for a rookie like myself? I can do computers but arcade machines are a whole different beast.

It's pretty basic at the switch end. If you've changed buttons on your other machines you can handle messing with the coin mech switch.

Worst case scenarios off the top of my head don't seem all that advanced. If you get it, just dive in. Gotta learn this stuff sometime. :p

What's the best way to remove side art?

The best way to remove the sideart is first with a heat gun and a metal scraper, then once you have the art off use Acetone and a plastic scraper to get the glue off. Make you it is well ventilated, works like a charm. DON'T USE GOO GONE, it soaks into the "wood". Here check out my thead:
