Title says it all. Haven't seen it yet, but was told the monitor doesn't work. The artwork reportedly is in very nice shape. I didn't ask about the gun solenoids though. He's asking $200. If it's a best case scenario, the guns are solid and the art is nice, would that be a fair price? What would be reasonable, if it's a worst case scenario? I've heard they're hard to give away, unless you're a huge T2 fan.

Are you planning on giving it away or keeping it for yourself? If you're a T2 fan, it's a keeper. If you're looking to flip it, yes you'll pretty much need to find a T2 fan to make it happen.

I'm a big T2 fan, so I'm gonna hold on to it. I always liked that game. I'm going off of what I was told, as far as condition, sight unseen. If it needs art and I can't find any, that should be reflected in the price. Who knows what horrors lie within the monitor? That could get ugly real quick. If it's in decent shape, won't need solenoids, art, etc, is that a fair price? It just seems high for something that might need a monitor replacement, IMHO.

I paid $75 for my machine, and it needed a new monitor. Someone on here sold me one for $100 rebuilt, I popped it in and............ it's been perfect ever since.

What kind of overall condition was it in cosmetically?

Very good overall. It just came from a giant game warehouse here on the East Coast that was just liquidating some stuff. I don't know of many other folks who have scored one for 75 bucks. I drove like a madman to make sure I got it. :D

That's a nice price for sure. I would be fine with a price like that, considering it was a soild cab all around. I see them at the auction all the time. They're always in various states of disarray. They usually are in the $100-$150 range working. I saw two this past weekend there, as a matter of fact. Unfortunately, I couldn't stick around to see what they went for. Realistically, I would imagine a really nice working one would be in the $250-$300 dollar range. I wouldn't think those are still making money on route, so the price would be significantly lower. Hey, what do I know? Price is relative. I just don't want to get stuck with a lemon. Optical guns are notorious for failure. They're hard to find, as well as parts for repair. But, that doesn't deter me. I still wouldn't mind lighting up T1000 with some machine gun fire, in my living room.

I talked to him today. He told me there's no monitor and wasn't sure if the guns worked or not. I will assume they probably don't. Couldn't the solenoids be tested at the very least, by just plugging it in starting a game? The optics are another story. The monitor crapped out on route. He pulled the machine, had the monitor repaired, but opted to put it into another one. With that being said, I'm wondering what kind of shape the artwork is in. I think the price you paid for yours is as low as I'll go, but $100 is as high. That seems to be fair, considering the potential for parts needing to be replaced.

I've been told that the monitors would burn up in these due to lack of ventilation/cooling- which reminds me, I need to install a CPU fan in there! When the game is powered up, you can at least tell if the guns are active or not because they have blinking lights on them. That way you can at least see that they are getting juice. The game also plays blind so you can hear the sound once it goes through the ROM check.

Awesome, guys. I appreciate all of your input. Frizzle, I imagine yours is a really nice working one. Copious, I'm with you all the way on that price.
Vin, any info on where that fan should go? I have a ton of those laying around. Anyway, I'm dropping by to see it tomorrow. Let's hope it's in as sweet of condition as he says it it. I'll keep you guys posted.
