Price Check on Rowe Bill Changer

op's pic looks like a bc-35 with an updated bill acceptor (you can see the black plastic part sticking out) and a new "accepts $1s $5s $10s $20s" decal

BC-35 only accept quarter, $1 & $5. if it actually was "updated", then it's now a BC-3500, not a BC-35.

Aftermarket kits are a different story.

edit: ahh, you must be thinking that another bill head has somehow been added behind the old slot? The entire assembly you see to the right of the coin acceptor is the bill head assy. When these are converted, that entire part is replaced since it just slides out as a unit -- you're not carefully cutting up the old bill head entry plate just to hack in an aftermarket bill head behind it. It's a BC-3500. They all have that black plastic slot on the bill head.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I went back today and picked it up for $50.00.

It's a BC3500. It looks pretty good, but I can't test it until I get a new power cord hooked into it. The old one had been sliced off. It also needs a new lock/key and it looks like the out of order light needs to be replaced. Other than that it looks complete. Here are some pics.

It had a different bill acceptor stored on the bottom with a few other spare parts it looks like.

Nice deal for $50!
That other bill head is an incomplete Ardac unit from a Seeburg juke, and is worth approximately nothing. It's totally unrelated to your changer, so if nothing you can use maybe give it/sell it cheap on the juke forum.

From the pic of your control board, it looks like the bottom cover for the power control center has been removed (this would usually be expected to be in place in any operating machine so there is no easy access to the hard counter), but with any luck it won't need much work to return to operating condition.

Thanks! I'm plugging away at the troubleshooting manual. It's giving me a check c coin detectr error now. That middle LED is about 1/4 the brightness of the other LED's. I'll have to check the voltage, but I ordered replacement LED's when I ordered the new service light. I'll keep at it, I'm sure it will eventually come back to life.

Stick with it. The best advice I got here on KLOV was to clean the hopper tracks with a wire brush. Change the bulbs (or in your case LEDs) and make sure that you're using uniform sizes in whatever you're dispensing. Oh and clean that thing up... They can be nasty lol

Wire brushes are for BC-35 and earlier. Do not use a wire brush on a BC-3500 with the teflon-coated chain channel, or you risk removing the coating. Teflon-coated hoppers are easily identifiable because the channel that guides the lift chain is green in color and not natural metal.

There should probably be a stiff nylon brush with a wooden handle about a foot long in the bottom of the changer somewhere. Dirt collects at the edges of the lift channel and will cause coins to fall off the chain when enough dirt collects, leading to slower recycling times. The brush is for cleaning the lift chain channels without having to disassemble the hoppers.
