I have a restored Neo Geo cab that I was thinking of selling. Its a 1 slot with the 138-1 multi installed. Sanded it down, repainted, added new side art, and installed new CPO. Coin door will be finished before I actually sell it. Just wanted to know what you guys think its worth. I honestly don't have a clue where to start with a price.

Depends on who you sell it to. If you sell it to someone outside of the arcade community, you could probably get $500-$600. Here, that would probably not go for over $100-$200.

Where did you get the stencils for the logos, if you don't mind my asking?

Umm, the 138-1 costs more than $100. I can't see any moron on this board offering just above the cost of the cart. I take that back, Dale would. Those aren't stencils either. Some guy on the neo geo forums actually makes stickers for all Neo Geo cabs. I think I paid $20 or something for it.

I'm not dogging on this at all. Nice work, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT...the use of the word "restored" makes me think this is mistaken for being dedicated. Unless my Neo Geo MVS cabinet history is totally wrong, this isn't a legit dedicated machine. It's a nicely done conversion of a cut corner Dynamo cabinet (a cabinet SNK did use for earlier games like Guerrilla War and Ikari Warriors...and maybe I am mistaken...maybe I am looking at a first run of the MVS cabs? Who knows!).

HardMVS is a pretty good source for the dedicated MVS cab info (even the dedicated Samurai Shodown II's came in the "big red" "wrench" shaped cabs).

I'm just bringing this up just in case you weren't aware or why this may not command the prices the big red dedicated monsters command.

I dunno. Actual numbers...actual numbers...hrm...100 to mid 200-ish. A bit on the higher end of that for the multi-cart and the fact that this looks like it was freshly put together. Plus the sides look beautiful. Of course, that's just me. *shrug*

Its definitely not an original dedicated cab. I never said it was. I didn't realize restored meant it had to be in its original cab. I "restored" the cabinet and game it came with into a cleaner version. I'm still surprised people think a nicer looking game will only command 100-200. If I were to throw a 48-1 in that cabinet, it would fetch $750 on CL and Ebay. I've seen it happen!! :) So maybe I should rephrase my question. What price could i potentially get on CL or Ebay if I were to throw it on there?

Restored tends to imply restoring something to its original condition. As in, what the cabinet left the factory as. It's what people tend to assume first when the word is used. So you knew it was converted, *phew!*, I'm glad we cleared that up.

I really don't see any collector paying higher than mid-200's...but that's collectors. Post on Craigslist and I'm sure you'll get the magic number you're wanting KLOV to guess (does it contain a 5?).

That cab would definitely be worth 2 or 3 times more on cl if you would have thrown a 60 in 1 in there. I don't understand it, but it happens all the time. I would say $200 just because it looks so nice. I paid $200 for a 4-slot dedicated with one game. Not quite as nice as yours, but in pretty nice shape. The 138 in 1 doesn't add much value to me; at least not what they cost. If I am paying anywhere near what it costs, I will buy it myself and choose exactly what I want. Nice looking cab though. I think I may order those stickers; I have a scratch on one side on mine.

Still don't understand the multi thing. I have seen some crappy cabs sell for a lot of money as a multi while nice dedicated cabs don't move at a third of the price.

I listed a Neo Geo in solid, but unrestored condition for $200 a while back. I only included a Fatal Fury cart with it.

The cab was solid black, and the CPO had capcom all over it.

It sold almost instantly, and the guy even offered me $300 for it, if I drove it to him (about $20 in gas)... worked out great for me.

I would say yours is easily worth $250-350

but, it all depends on your market

It definitely depends on the market and the market in Michigan isn't exactly booming. I may just keep it if it really won't sell for more than $200.

I would buy it if you were closer even if I had to replace the bezel myself. It looks clean and the fact that it is a straight Jamma cab since it is a 1-slot is a plus. I guess I don't see many games for sale around these parts that are game room ready from the start. Good luck with the sale.

I'd say to a new collector or just every day man, this would go for $550 MAX on CL. Sad but true, the 60-in-1 crap brings in a little more money for much less effort. However the classic games are more popular with the 30-50 year old generation who have on average more disposable income. The 20-30 year old guys are your market with multi neo's and other multi stuff. They're always looking for cheap and working, not quality.

Anyways, back on topic here...

My buddy sold a generic Neo with 25" in it and a 138 cart a month or so ago for like $600, and it was clean, but definitley not restored.

This week, he was trying to sell the same exact thing again for $500 and can't even get a hit on CL.The market is weird.

Definitely a nice looking game! Just ebay or Cl that sucker and eventually I believe you'll get want you want for it,unless you ask for 25K like those chumps that have already been ridiculed on here with several threads.

I'll trade you a SmashTV for it :)

Nice restore job Drew. It looks good. I'd say post it for $500 and take offers. Captain Pinball will be along shortly with a $50 offer saying it's good for nothing but parts.

Nice conversions like what you have should fetch about the same as a dedicated cabinet, its the shitty conversions that are worthless IMO. I agree with the last post, start at $500 and see what people haggle you down to. I think It should fetch close to that at least.

The problem with the Neo Geo multi versus the classic 60-1 (as far as resale) is that most diehard Neo-Geo fans hate bootlegs.
