I now have a working dedicated kangaroo could use a little work like new T-molding and work on the bottom but not to much. what would be a good price for a machine like this?

I see them go for around $150 maybe $200 for a nice one. I think its a really cool game, but does not get much respect.

thinking of keeping for that price but im so limited by room right now that i have 1(tekken5) in my living room and other 3 in the hall by my kitchen :( not going to take to my basement.

Theres a reason Kangaroos are always found in such good shape. lol I had one once..got tired of the gameplay and sold it for 125.00 which was a loss because I paid 150.00 it.

it is a great cabinet and works fine, i started playing it and i remember when i was 10-12 playing it a local convenience store and could not get to to the top for the life of me but now third lvl lol. brought back some memories

I wonder was that on easy mode or hard mode?

I would uo selling one of mine for $100 and making a multi out of another. No love for that game here.

I gave one away once. simply 'cause i had no room and it sat for month's with no taker's at $100.00.

The old saying If you were closer.

A little hint on selling a kangaroo.
Don't look for an arcade game player.
Don't look for an Someone who has fond memories of the game.

Find someone who Loves Kangaroos.
It punches Monkeys and recuse a baby kangaroo.

There are many out there who would love to buy the game if they knew it exists.

what's the story with the mame version? i never knew of any kind of music in the game except after a level is completed.

I don't understand all the hatred for the game. It's really not that much different than Donkey Kong...plus it has a nice cabinet (one you don't have to play on your knees it you are 6ft or over), nice artwork (glass bezel and marquee), no Sanyo EZ, and it's made by Atari. I paid too much for mine (350) but I will probably never get rid of it. I guess it might be a good thing people don't like it....that means those of us that do will always be able to find parts cheaply...and eventually it will be rare with all the people converting them to 60-1s or mame.

I always enjoyed the game as a kid, seems like a lot of 2 to 3 machine arcades (gorcery stores, gas stations, etc) always had them so I always played it. It was better than getting my 10 year old butt handed to me by a Defender machine. With that said, knowing the price point on the game I won't pay more than $100 for a working one. But I still wouldn't mind owning one someday.

Very true. I wouldn't mind owning it at $100 either. Of course, I'll take any working classic for a hundy.

Kangaroo is proof that controls are essentially to a good game. While the cabinet art was beautiful and the graphics were charming for their time, most people will say the sluggish behavior of the controls kills the game. It feels choppy, slow, and even sometimes unresponsive.

I wonder if those issues can be resolved? maybe it just suffers from a slow CPU? Input not being polled fast enough?

Back in the glory days, when the arcade was packed, Kangaroo was one of those games that never had a line.
