Price check on kage

Realistically, none. Seller's price is far out of line with reality. He also sells 60 in 1s for $750.

I like the game, probably wouldn't go over 125 on that, probably wouldn't go over 75 at an auction.

If that is a must have game for you and the monitor is nice then 200 wouldn't be totally out of line.

Anything more than that and you are being taken for a ride (I can buy the board right now for $85 from quarterarcade, which tells me that non-retail you could get the board for $45ish with a bit of waiting and a few wtb posts).

Spend a little more and buy his Tapper instead, that is a lot more reasonable.

Yeah the game is ok I just want the cab and monitor for another project but I did enjoy the legend of kage on the NES but in no way is it a must have. Thank you for your advice.

In that case the same exact guy has a 10 yard fight in the same style cabinet with a sound problem for $150.

Guess it depends on how bad you want it. I'd offer $200, maybe $250 if I was really wanting the cab and monitor. You could always sell the Kage kit (marquee, bezel, game pcb) for at least $100, so you could recoup some of your money there. $425 for that game is WAY too much though.

I've dealt with this guy before and he can be pretty reasonable with prices. Unfortunately, him not being a collector he tends to overestimate the condition of the games he has.

Yeah I kinda got that vibe from him. I didn't know he wasn't a collector though. I know he beat me to that rally x he has for sale. Seller wanted $450-500 for it. He's flipping it for $900-1000. Crazy.

It isn't really flipping when it would take you many months or even years to sell. There is no way you could get a fast sale on a Rally-X for $900. Any real collector would know that is way too much and any schmuck off the street will have never heard of the game.

The rally x is so expensive because its mame...uggg. You have to remember that most non collectors like the idea of bang for the buck, so they see a mame with a couple thousand games and probably think that's a good deal

And most of them actually think the LCD is some sort of upgrade. I know a guy who makes these things and he says it is MUCH easier to sell them with a new LCD inside than it is with an original monitor.

Lol yeah that's true, but the rally x cab is super clean and the original owner converted it to a mame machine with a juke box so it would be pretty attractive for the regular ol joe twelve pack.
