I am just trying to get and idea of what and Exidy Venture sells for, because I was thinking of getting one and I just wanted and idea of what working ones generally sell for. Thank You

Ditto Luckyman, they're quite rare, but I do see an occasional converted cab turn up here and there for cheap so I wonder if it might be "easier" to get one of those and convert it back? I think people are working on repro artwork and CPOs.

I saw converted one not too long ago for like $100, damn thing was on the wrong side of the country of course :(

Rare? Somewhat...they just don't seem to come up for sale that much anymore it is true...10 years ago, there was always one or two on eBay :).

But $1000? I kind of doubt it...I'd say a typical Venture price would be around $300-$500 (maximum). There was one on craigslist in my area just a month or so ago that I think was listed around $400 if I remember correctly, and I don't know if it sold or not but the add remained up there for awhile.

I picked up mine for $100 back around 2000, and also have an extra working boardset as backup. :D

Yep, you can find the $300 Venture sitting next to the $250 Galaga '88 and the $400 Dragon's Lair

Condition matters - there was one on craigslist in Orange County last year listed for $200. I went and checked it out - it actually kinda partially booted up (couldn't actually play the game) and the artwork was mostly gone or painted over. But in theory you could have bought that for $200, fixed the board set and had a working one for $200.

Just because YOU haven't found one for that doesn't mean they don't exist.

My understanding though is that Venture PCBs are notably flaky, and since it's a fairly rare game, it'd be hard to find a replacement (unlike something like Pole Position, which is flaky but there are a lot of them around).

I didn't say they don't exist, I'm saying it's worth more than that. Someone on this board picked up a Dragon's Lair off craigslist last week for $200. Does that mean DL is now a $200 game? Of course not.

i was just saying thats what it would take for me to sell mine.. i do know they go for cheaper... i also never see boards on here for it... i lucked out on getting mine.. i pieced mine together.. had anthony frim quarterarcade wire it to a switcher power suppy. one of my favorite games.. i also have an extra pcb set for mine..

there seems to be a trend as of late of over valuing games in my opinion. Yes I have seen a few exidy boards sell for high dollar because they don't pop up a lot and yes the complete games don't pop up every day but they're just not high dollar games IMO. In fact until maybe two years ago when a few people on this forum starting talking up Exidy games no one cared for them much at all. I guess I should post a pic of my stack of Exidy board sets. None of which I paid more than $60 shipped for. Most of which I bought for less than $40.

Yeah I noticed that one, pretty pricey even for mint condition.

Yeah, I don't know what the value is on it really. I put it at $100 because I have not seen one before and it's in excellent shape. I also put that I am open to offers. I just don't want to leave money on the table for something I don't know the value of.
If someone offered less but was giving me an honest price I'd definitely sell it. Otherwise I may just keep it for wall art.

Who knows, you may get it if someone has been looking for one for a long time and is frustrated.

I think that's a fair price, actually. Where's anyone gonna find another one like it?

Yeah, see that is what I was thinking. It's just in such nice shape and someone that wants a really nice venture and puts the time into it would probably pay that much for it. We'll see. I like the look of it so it may just end up on my wall.

Worst that can happen is nobody buys it and you either lower the price or just keep it.
