Price check on DE Star Wars

I've got one for sale right now for $2300. Not that I'll get that much but I'm sure I'll get close to it. If I wanted to wait for the right buyer I know I could get full price. As it is I won't go down more than a couple hundred.

I'd express interest in that since I can trust your word on the condition, but I'm sure the shipping from Canada would kill. Jersey -> TX would only be around $250.

KSPIFF! Do NOT buy from barrywnj. Google him on RGP....he's one of these guys who buys tons of shitty reimport games from overseas, wipes them down w/ a rag, and overcharges. You will not get your moneys worth and will most likely have to spend more on repairs.

I just bought a DE SW for $900 ...granted I've spent over $300 in parts and have to put the time into restoring it...but still, if I were to resell it...I'd never ask $2400!!! That's crazy for this game. $2000 MAX, IMO.

Yeah... I would love to sell it to you but shipping would be a killer. Even if I dropped to $2K you'd still probably be looking at $600 or something ungodly to get it shipped. You could check with RLEVIN or someone else who is always on about cheap shipping though. The problem becomes the brokerage across the border.

EDIT:
Also keep in mind that the market is slightly higher where I live due to good old supply and demand. You probably have as many people in your state as we have in our whole country.

Oh, fuck, thanks for the tip. Was going to Google him later before I committed, but hadn't bothered as yet. Was just going on the good feedback score.

Was suspicious when I noted the coin door was a single entry. Don't think that is stock for the USA version...?

@Lindsey - The market here is way high actually. Lots of retailers with deep pockets and stubborn sellers with unrealistic pricing expectations. Houston is home for at least two major pinball distributors, too.

I have been personally Effed in the A by barrywnj so I can second the sentiment - stay far, far, far away from any game that con-artist jackhole is selling unless you can inspect the game yourself very very carefully before buying. Every single pin that guy sells is

THE BEST HE HAS EVER SEEN !!!! NICE !!! PERFECT IN EVERY WAY !!!! WOW, YOU WILL BE OH SO VERY SATISFIED LIKE A BJ FROM SCARLETT JOHANSSON SATISFACTION ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED !!!!!

Until he has your $$$ and you have a broken down turd of a game.

Then, it's "your big fat problem, baby".

I have no idea how he keeps his 100% positive ebay feedback.

Wow, for $2700 I would load mine in the SUV and drive it to you!
And I live in Colorado...

Specifically I'm looking at this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATA-EAST-S...AR-GREAT-SHAPE?item=220848875379&cmd=ViewItem

According to seller it would be a little south of $2700 shipped.

Forgot about that bostonpinball eBay trends site for pins. On that site I'm seeing about $2050 as an average from the past year, but more like $2800 for YTD. That includes eBay inflation I suppose, but I still haven't personally seen one less than $2200-2400 in quite a while.

I'm tempted to pull the trigger... looks like a pretty nice example... I am hesitant to buy a game I haven't seen in person. What to do? Hm...

Maaan I made that drive a while back in an overloaded service vehicle during winter with small tires and no snow chains. Looong ass drive. And seems like every possible route = potential death in a 5000ft icy ravine. :p Actually almost lost it coming into Vail on an unsalted stretch of highway, straight off an unguarded drop into a fucking abyss.

The Stern SW is 100 percent speculation, and even if so, i would guess later next year or early 2013 sometime (after Transformers, AC / DC is rumored....).

The DE SW i have mixed feelings about. I love the designer - Borg - he did two of my favorites IM and now Tron. The game is too quirky for my liking - i want a serious SW machine! But outside of that, i like it.

2400 is highest end you can go - The ebay seller by the way is pretty much selling an off route game (it looks it / thats what i hear he does - dont expect it to be fully shopped). I think one can be found for less... but thats just me.

Ha - i was just going to paste a link to that one. Much closer to you and in really nice shape. Make an offer you would be surprised at what flies.

If you look close enough at it the game has some issues... Not sure how well it was shopped *looked at the close up pics of the targets for EX*.

I say, wait for the Acade Expo. You can play a pin and if you like it, buy it. I'm surprised you've never been, just about every pin there is for sale it seems lilke. I can't rememeber but the Black Hole they had last year might have been for sale too. I played it a few times though some people said it was constantly breaking down. Congrats on the pin buying spree! ha ha

That is not too bad of a drive, but at this point probably going to hold off until the show.

Sent him an offer for $1900 though, if he'll take that (haha, yeah right) I'd buy it. Any more than that and I'd need to see it in person first.

As for the expo I think it's a combination of never being available when the show comes up, and a small amount of guilt about not being willing to put any of my games up there. Then again it's sounding like the majority of folks who bring games bring them to prospect sales, which does not interest me.

Been to Joystix. Their selection of new pins is pretty spiffy, but it wasn't that impressive. And there were a lot of classic vids that needed a LOT of repair work. Don't recall if the older restored pins seemed well restored or not.

So it was basically down to playing a few good pins, the punching machine, or one of the 50 variants of Ms. Pac/Galaga reunion.

But I was there about 3 years ago and just once. Plus I think the latest pin at the time was WoF (urgh).

EDIT: and nothing as far as a reply on the offer yet. I'm guessing once 9-10am rolls around it will be soundly rejected, or if they're interested they will probably wait until the offer is about to expire and then accept (doubtful).

LOL if it expires I'll put in another offer for $1850 to be a dick. ;D
