I have an opportunity to snatch a Galaga or Mrs. Pac Cocktail.
Both in good condition and work. 350.00 for the Galaga and 400 for the Mrs. Pac.
Good deal?

I would buy the nicer of the two. If you were at all considering sticking a multiboard in it then you should buy the galaga as it already has a button and galaga boards sell for a lot more than Ms. Pac boards do.

Thanks for the advice, Thats the plan. Looking to buy the nicer rig. :)
whats a multi board cost? wasn't planning. But would like the option.

not another 60 in 1 *rolls eyes*(sorry arcade purist me hates those bootleg boards! They totally ruin my day). I will say those are good prices and I'd totally snap up the Galaga if it was near me.

I think those are about $100 and the MS. Pac Man Galaga revolutions/reunion boards are about $300 on ebay(at least you get an official license).

Those prices are pretty decent, unless they are located in SWVA, in which case you should be shocked to see such high prices, and send me the contact info, so I can school this guy on realistic prices ;-) Just kidding.. Pick them up, thats as cheap as I ever see decent working cocktails. Keep in mind galaga will need new control panels to support a multi board.

Per 60-n-1s, my feeling is that its a good thing as long as you can preseve the original. Buy new control panels/joysticks (you need the sticks, and overlays anyway), and a jamma harness, and wire it into the existing power supply. Leave the existing wiring alone and the boards in place. You'll have to add a couple of wires for the lights if you want them. This way, you keep the value of the game when you convert it back.

If you get the Galaga... you don't need a JAMMA harness. Just grab a Galaga to JAMMA converter and a couple of control panels and you are in business. The new/extra buttons and directions for the joystick attach to the converter board. Nothing gets hacked. It is all plug and play.

Thanks guys! I just got it home. Here are a few picks. Paid 350 for it. All original down to the control panels. It has a new Monitor. Its pretty clean. The glass is a little scratched. Cab is solid. The bottom of the cab is a little dinged up. Is there a way to fix this?
Also, should I replace the glass, or leave it original? The Control Panels are almost perfect? Hard to believe there original.....

That's right on the cusp. It's a total judgement call between leaving the nice "patina" intact, or restoring it. You'll get varying responses.

Personally, I'd leave it as-is. I would've shelled out $400-$500 for that thing. Nice grab!

Thanks, it feels good to find a decent deal within 40 miles!

Nice NSX man.

You can touch up the black sections of the glass by scraping off the flaking parts and hitting it with a black spraycan. I wouldn't do a full restore on it as it is way too nice for that to make any sense.

Good buy.

Very nice. Mine looks sorta of like that, but without all the fancy working parts!

I think the galaga was the right choice. I would typically value it as high or higher than the Ms. Pac. The working game boards typically sell for more.

Just curious, the Ms. Pac, was it a Pacman conversion (with 11" CTs) or a Ms. Pac (with 9" CTs)?

Thanks Chris, I didn't check out the Mrs. Pac. He sold it, before I could see it. I had first dibs on both, but really wanted the Galaga. I noticed it also, has had a new Happ power supply installed.
