Price Check on a Galaga

Is this a good deal for $695. He originally had the price at $1295, then $895. I have 3 pins and this would be my first arcade. Seems like a real good deal to me.

Do you really like Galaga? Then go see it and find out if it's as nice as he says (and slap him for using all caps while there). Then offer him $550-600 (if he's been dropping the prices that much, you should be able to get it for a little less).

If it's in as nice as shape as he says, I don't see $695 being a bad price. It's not a great price, but it's not terrible either. I've seen Galaga's sell for more...
 
Ask him to open up the back and make sure it really is original. There should be a two board set inside a metal sleeve in the bottom of the cabinet. The boards are the same size. You could look on ebay to see an example of the real boardset too.

If it's really "LIKE NEW" and you really want a Galaga, that's a fair price. But it better be completely like new inside and out.
 
I've personally passed on pretty good fully working Galaga's for around $400-500, mainly because I have too limited space. If I really loved the game, I would find the best one I could and be willing to pay a little extra for a minty one.. perhaps that's what you have here? You can't go wrong with just making the guy an offer and see what happens...
