I have a Ms. Pacman standup that I'm contemplating selling. It's 100% functional and I do believe it is 100% original/unrestored. The only part I suspect might not be original is the power wire and plug. It may have been replaced at some point but I am not sure because I don't know what an original looks like.

There are obvious signs that this machine was used quite a bit over the years, as evidenced by the nicks, scratches and the handmarks/grime at the typical spots (and special shout out to "Danny" for scribing his name on the side).

The lock on the front coin door is intact (and locked) but I do not have the key. The lock socket on the back panel cover is drilled out.

Paint/artwork is intact and in good overall condition. No evidence of touch up or repaint work. Serial numbers match in all places I can find a serial. I also have an original "Parts and Operating Manual" (bound document, not a pdf) complete with all schematics.

Any idea what it is worth? I saw a couple of similar machines on Ebay for ~$1000 that just sat there without any buyers, but I have to imagine location plays a role since shipping one of these things is probably not cost effective.

Current location of this machine is San Francisco Bay Area.

I paid 450 for one in similar condition last year. I think yours is a nice un restored example with the only big negative being that unofficial replacement control panel overlay. But nice repo ones are all over the place.

Thanks for pointing out the control panel. I didn't know that. After doing a quick search it appears as though this is what an original control panel looks like, is that correct?

I agree with this.

You know what? I'm going to change my opinion. This is a super clean machine on the inside. Look at that ISO block and fuse holder. This machine is nicer than the pics convey.

$550-650 easy. Replace that control panel overlay if you want, but the Willis overlay is kinda neat, I like it.

I would think out here you could get like $600-$800 for a game in that kind of shape if everything's working. Solid quick sell friend price of $400-$500 and it would go quick.
Price it around $1000 and it will sit on CL for months.

Thanks for all the replies!

This CPO situation intrigues me. On the one hand I am partial to preserving the originality of this thing, all the way down to wear and tear. I'd love to source an original CPO (not a repo) and return this machine to 100% original configuration.

But.. I am looking at the current Willis CPO on it right now and it is obvious to me that the Willis CPO has been on this machine for a very, very long time. It seems likely an operator (perhaps even the original operator) put the Willis CPO on. For what reason, who knows. But the fact that the Willis company played a role in the story of the machine and the industry as a whole does carry some value from a historical context.

Anyway, I'll look for an original CPO in the mean time. I see the repos on ebay and those don't interest me. I'd rather have a weathered Willis that helps tell the history of this machine.

I see that CPO on a lot of conversions. I like it on those but on a Ms. Pac it really needs the right overlay because of the way the bezel flows to it.

If you look in the parts section here, original Ms. Pac CPs pop up fairly often and normally at a reasonable price.
I agree the willis CP is neat and tells some of the history of this specific game, but value wise I think most people would rather have the correct original CP.
Cheers
