I have been going back and forth with a guy about a Ms. Pac Man. He is locked in at $600, I I think I can get him to budge to $500.

He says there is some burn in on the monitor (expected) and the colors run a bit.

Here are some pictures:

(Yes, it says "F*ck You" on it...So sad...)

Thoughts? Way overpriced?

That's more than I'd be willing to pay, even with the side art being in as good of shape as it is..I could see paying in the 3-400 range. How's the rest of the machine look? Marquee light up OK, coin mechs work, control panel and bezel in good shape, board and power supply look OK inside? Does it look like the wiring has been hacked up at all?

Also, anyone ever tried to remove sharpie with a magic eraser? Wonder how easily you could get that off without messing up the art underneath.

Looks like a $350-$400 Ms. Pac to me.
There are lots of chi[s along the bottom, the kickplate art is fadeed, same with the marquee, the CPO is peeled, but the side art is not faded but has the curse words.

250 if fully working

Come on, let's not be ridiculous, here. I'm as much of a cheapass as the next guy (trust me, I AM), but there's no way a dedicated, fully working Ms Pac should be offered $250.

MINIMUM would be $300. And that's full of dust, horribly burned monitor needing recapping, faded marquee, flaked bezel, sloppy joystick, missing coin mechs, and fair/poor side art.

That cab is worth about $450-$500 in my opinion. More if the monitor's been serviced properly.

Offer him $450 and tell him that you'll pony up an extra $50 if he gets the monitor serviced before turning it over.

See if he'll split the diffrence. I mean around here you could probably wipe the cuss words off, add $100 to the price and it would sell on cl or ebay

Mine was quite a bit nicer and I sold it for $500 to a KLOV'er. I'd go $400.00 for the OP's Ms. Pac, only if the monitor is nice, joystick is good to go and the bezel is not all peeling to shite.

I paid $250 for mine, fully working...but the side art was totally trashed, no coin mechs, no rear door, had an extra button hacked into the CP that wasn't hooked to anything. can see the before pics in the link in my sig.

bottom line...

It's worth whatever you want to pay for it.

Personally, Ms. Pac is available all day any day so I would wait and find another one if I was not happy with the price...

I got mine dirty but working and needing a monitor recap for $75. I would have paid up to $250 for it. $300 if it was close to home.

I would think nice (survivor) original sideart and in general nice shape would make it worth $250 more than that, so $500 is fine.

I bought mine for around $100, but there's a sloppy hole or 2 cut in the front for a hasp and it's horribly faded..would need a repaint/restencil, which would add $100s to the final price of my project.

If you can find one for $250 with NICE original side art, buy em all day long as you can double your money or more!
