Price Check: Missile Command Cocktail

Price may be a tiny bit high, but if you're local and want it, consider that you won't have to pay shipping. If the condition is very nice, then that's worth a lot to someone.

I'd love a M/C but the cocktail is just so "boring" looking to me, are these on the rare side?

There has been one off and on CL in the Dallas area and I personally wouldn't pay more than $400 for one clean and working. I've had 2 and know where a third one is. (If it hasn't been parted out)

I have one that looks like it's in similar shape to the listing (I still need to do a cap kit on the monitor) and I paid $200 for it about 6 weeks ago.

There were about 3000 M.C. cocktail units originally produced, so it's definitely rarer than the upright, but that doesn't necessarily translate into desirability. I could never fit an upright through my basement door, so it definitely works for me!

Wouldn't say they are rare. Not so common... As an avid MC player, I hate the CT. UNPLAYABLE! Yes, ugly is a better way to describe the cab.

Yeah, $575 is WAY too much. $250 at the VERY VERY most. It does look to be in good shape.

my 2 cents; Wait for an UR cab to come along... :) Good luck
Yeah what he said. ;) Absoltuely agree that this is a $200 to $300 machine tops in this market. BUT. I would not buy it at that. Let me elaborate on "unplayable" as our good friend Bri says above. You cannot roll the trac ball without jamming your fingers up against the machine, they did not leave enough room to comfortably roll the trac ball. Hence, you do not have the maneuverability you do on a UR or cabaret and after awhile banging your fingers HURTS. If you really want a M.C., do yourself a favor and hold out for a UR or cabaret. They aren't that uncommon and that way you will get to play M.C. the way it was meant to be.

I paid $300 for a working one late last year. That being said, I had to rebuild the AR2 after it fried and took out something on the MB, bitslicer fixed the pcb for me, and then the monitor started acting funky so I capped it.

Good news is everything has been rebuilt (except big blue) and it works great now. Monitor is a Sanyo 14". Simple to cap and looks really nice.

My 2 cents about the playability. I love playing this game. I never played the UR so I don't know the difference. I don't have trouble jamming my fingers or any of that. I guess I'm just used to it.
