I'm looking at a Missile Command cabaret tomorrow that appears to be fully functional and in pretty nice condition.

What are the general thoughts on what is an acceptable price range for this game?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

The cabaret fetches weird prices. You can find them for $100, but I've also heard some nutball, cabaret-fetish people will pay $300 for one.

I paid around $500 for mine, I think. In very good, all original shape. I think a general range would be $300-$500 if it's nice.

In terms of playability, I think it does quite well for a cabaret. It's a different experience than the UR (smaller screen, smaller Trak-Ball), but it's a lot of fun, and I'm not selling it anytime soon. :)

If you do end up getting it, the High Score / Super Missile Attack kit is a must.

And the "nutball haters" of cabarets always say they're worthless, but the price tags generally say otherwise. Even the nutball haters ask a lot for them!

$100 for an MC cabaret? That doesn't make sense, because that's barely more than the value of the board. But, if you know where I can find one, or any cabarets at that price, hook a brotha up.

Meh, they're around. My buddy got his on a trade for roughly $100. All perfect working order.

I personally like the game. I've played it at his shop and think this and asteroids cabaret work very well (no joysticks in the way, perfect angle to the monitor, etc). I'm not a hater at all of cabarets, I would just never pay more for a cabaret than I would the upright with all the pretty arts. In my area Upright MC's can be had for $400-$500.

Ever since I got my first Cabaret I can't wait to get another.

Sure they don't have the fancy side art, but they are neat little cabinets.

That MC is the same shape as my Asteroids. Would look great next to it

The Asteroids cabaret is one I've been looking for, to no avail. Pretty much for the same reason: seems, control and display-wise, it comes out well on the smaller format.

I don't think I've ever played an upright version, so I can't compare it to that. My early experiences were with the 2600.

The Cabaret does play well.
Most people complain about the screen and being too tall. I'm 6' 5" and I can play it no problem

I'm looking forward to finding one, though I must admit I currently have no space for it!

I find it strange that, with all of the other production #s in that one Atari list, they don't have numbers for Asteroids cabarets...
