Price Check - Michael Jackson's Moonwalker

hard to price this one. It's been going up in value a lot. Ideally get it for $300-$400 but wouldnt complain about paying more if all sideart was there and control panel was in good shape

thanks for the input guys. I will need to take a closer look at the PCB. the game is buried in a warehouse so its difficult to get a great idea of condition. I thought this one was valued at least $1,000

Condition is everything. "Dedicated" is everything.

The regular public will pay fairly well for a good, working example of this machine. You may not see $1000, but cross-interest (gaming + Michael Jackson) makes this a desirable game.

The board's worth about $150 alone...especially if you spend $30 or whatever on the resurrection kit (which takes 10 min to install). If the game's in decent condition, you could probable get >$500, albeit it probably not here.

There was one here on CL for months.. Didnt bring $300, then price reduced didnt sell for $250.. OK OK so its M. Jackson:eek:, but the game play sucks so bad IMO...

if its a dedicated cab with full art and topper, I would say $500 - $700. If its not dedicated, then I would say $200-$400 depending on the cab. Its jamma, so if you get tired of it, you can swap it out easy.

Its something like $60-$75 to fix the suicide battery forever. So that should not stop you from getting the game.

the gameplay is very good. The music is awesome, the stages are inventive, sprites look great, cool power-up, chimpanzee running around, killing people by synchronized dance-off...if you don't love this game then you're dead inside.

Agreed.

It's like dismissing Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! because someone doesn't like Mike Tyson. The game design is great, and it's a riot.

I have a client who wants one....So if anyone close to MD has got one for sale please shoot me a PM..... He's ready to buy. He will probably ship if it's in nice enough condition.

I think that games got some charm, I liked the coleco version. I thought it was fun. I would buy one in mint condition to have. I think this game will be valuable some day.

The price on this exploded for about a year after Jackson's death, but it has settled back down to pre-death prices.

There are a few people trying to recover what they spent on it when it was expensive.

this........

I believe I sold a board within the last year for $250 within 24 hours of listing it on eBay, and I would think $500 would be the average price for a dedicated machine.

I don't think this game was ever on Colecovision, but it was on Sega Genesis.
