Price check: Mars

Great super-fun game, but rare as hen's teeth. Good luck finding one. I've encountered two in the last 15 years or so, both were too far away and wanted too much money anyway.

People see that "rare" word on the Klov listings and get dollar signs in their eyes.

Apparently they never read ahead to the part that says "Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value."

It's basically a Scramble clone. Good game. Pretty rare, but that doesn't automatically make it valuable. Last one I saw the guy wanted way too much money for.

Hmm... my best guess is that "Mars" is a $150 - $250 game if it is in good shape and is working 100%. I am basing that off the value of other very rare yet cheap machines (e.g. "The Pit," "Challenger," etc...)

Well the controls are more like Robotron with movement and firing using 8 way joysticks.

Here are pics from one that was on ebay a few years back. They also seem to have been used in the KLOV listing.

Another game I wished I had bought when I had the chance. :)

Must have been a different game, or maybe was in a conversion cabinet? Mars is like a combination of Scramble and Robotron, and fires in 8 directions using a second joy. No bomb button like Scramble/Super Cobra.
