Price check: Jr. Pac-Man upright

Fully works, but missing the top sign.

I think the missing marquee de-values it quite a bit.

Dedicated machines (or factory conversions from Mappy, if you prefer) come up for sale very rarely. Personally, I'd pay $500-700 for a complete one, depending on condition.

The dedicated cabs are probably work 2x or more the conversions. Most people convert the conversions back to Ms. Pac/Pac....

That cabinet (used to have one) sticks out like a sore thumb but missing the marquee makes it decidedly pedestrian; they are worth less without it....

This is a Mappy conversion. I'm guessing this would make it less valuable than if it were truly original, even though both use the same cabinet.

I thought all "dedicated" were Mappy conversions, some done at the factory?

That I don't know. It has the same funky cab that's shown in the KLOV entry, which is the same one used for Mappy. I noticed some spots on the sides where the cabinet was scraped, and saw different (Mappy) artwork underneath it. The KLOV entry mentions it was originally released as a dedicated cabinet, and later as a kit. I guess the next question is, was the kit specifically for Mappy, for Pac-Man/Galaxian type cabinets, or for multiple cabs?

Yeah, the "dedicated" Jr. Pacs usually still have the Mappy artwork underneath the Jr. Pac artwork. The marquee boxes are often missing and the marquees are sometimes faded, too. I have only seen one Mappy but not a dedicated Jr. Pac. Conversions aplenty, though. There are a lot in Super Pac cabs but same thing with Pacs or Ms. Pacs. I have a PCB that I swap into either my Pac or Ms. Pac when I want to play. Hopefully, someday I will be able to get a decent cabinet for it.

All dedicated jrpac's were built with mappy cabinets by midway. They left the original mappy artwork on them and put the jrpac art over it. If you have any specific questions on the dedicated machines just post them and I will be glad to help.
I wouldnt pay much for one that is missing the marquee. The large marquee is going to be really hard to find.

The kits were intended for Pac, MsPac and Super Pac cabs. The super pac kit would have a pcb designed for AC voltage like the dedicated cab. The Pac/MsPac pcb is set up for AC so its plug and play in the pac cab.
If you can get the cab for a good price it wouldnt hurt to buy it and wait for a marquee to pop up. Rich from thisoldgame had started vectorizing the marquee but never made any of them. Perhaps one day they will be available along with the much needed side art.

Brian aka Prok did a very limited replacement kit for the marquee box a while back..basically shipped it in box in pieces and you assembled(Very easy to assemble..exact replacement...I have a one or two replacement glass marquees that are in good shape too that I've collected over the years..I would sell you one if you decide to get the cabinet and track down a marquee box......obviously I would offer less for it without marquee box but that isn't something you can't find or have made...the most important part is the dedicated sideart if it is in tact much more valuable..if its missing your shit out of luck currently as I've only seen one set of NOS art pop up and that went for big big bucks...

One of my best buys was the NOS jr pac dedicated over-sized glass marquee I got recently...was purchased from vendor buyout ....absolutely perfect with no fade which is unheard of..still wrapped in brown paper and apparently ordered for one that broke but never used..never thought I'd find one...

But as Riptor stated you could wait for Rich to do them down the road but who knows how long that might take...

I've got one in my collection and that and the Mappy do have the most unique cabs other than maybe a Wacko cab...:D

I love the Mappy cab. I love the fact that they were trying to showcase that game as hard as they possibly could with the oversize marquee. And plenty of other artwork, too.

Then the thing mostly flopped...the irony being that the game is rather brilliant, IMHO.

Found a picture of mine from a while back before I moved everything around...Now everything is crammed in basement and storage awaiting the move into the new arcade bldg.

Yes, Rick's is in much better shape than mine. DJdns has a really nice (almost mint) one with an unexplained black background bezel. Im not sure if the bezel was a printing error or what but its the only one I have seen like it.

Yeah I wondered about that black bezel too when Daryl showed me pictures of it..I've never seen another either..I need to find out what serial number is on that cab...

I was lucky to find a nos bezel for mine..and just recently a NOS marquee too..even though the one I have on there is very nice.

I looked at the serial thinking it was going to be low or high but it wasnt. I cant remember the number but it wasnt significant...somewhere in the middle. If I recall there were around 5-600 dedicated machines built. From the serial numbers I have seen this holds true.
