I have a possible line on a 3 machine deal. The seller knows that the one piece is rare, and I don't think I will get this deal, but I thought I would ask.

What is a fair price for the following titles as a package deal:

1) Joust - working, needs to be cleaned up, fair condition, should clean up decent.
2) Joust 2 - Working, again, needs to be cleaned up, should come up decent.
3) Joust pinball - This is the kicker. Game is complete, does not work. Not 100% sure what's wrong with it. Playfield is decent, but does have a little wear.

I don't want to insult him with lowball offers. I really only want the pin (which is obviously the most expensive part of the transaction).

So what do you think would be a realistic collector offer for these machines? Let me go on record that I will NOT discolse the source of the deal at this time. If I don't get the deal, I will list it here if someone else wants to persue it.

Chris

For all 3 games I would say $3000.

Most Joust pinball machines have some playfield wear but these playfields are an easy restoration since they are sys7 games.

Joust Pinball - Somewhat rare and hard to find. I used to own one. They made like 400 of these.

This is close to what I was thinking, especially since they need SOME work. We shall see.

I appreciate any / all feedback!

Chris
I want to say even lower, possibly $1000 to $1200. You're going to be lucky to get $400 to $500 each for the Joust and Joust 2 in this market, the former is just to common and the latter game play blows so you're looking for the proverbial "right buyer." I just don't think a non-working Joust pinball is a cash cow... I could be wrong.

So you're valuing the non-working Joust pinball around $2000?

The last WORKING Joust H2H pinball I saw sold for $4000 retail. Drop that to $3000 non-retail, and $1000-2000 non-working if it's in very nice shape.

Joust 2 sometimes gets upwards of $500-750, even though it sucks.

Regular Joust can be had for $200-350 any day of the week.

If he really knows the rarity of the pinball, then I doubt you'd get all three for under $2000....

if you dont make the deal, let me kow, id pay around 2k for the deal. if fact, if you go get the games, id give you 2k for the pin and one of the uprights, so here is a chance for you to make a few bucks and all you would have to do is get them and work with a shipper of mine

i'd offer $1500 to start and see where it goes. the less you pay for the package equals the more you can have for potential fixes. i'd keep the joust and joust pin and dump the joust 2 for the most you can get.

I completely agree with Mod!!!! Joust pins are highly sought after and freakin awesome looking as well..I have a buddy in NC that has one stashed in his moms garage and he wouldnt sell for any less than 3000 bucks..Not even sure if it works after so many years...

Watched a Joust 2 sell for 600 bucks at the Winston salem auction a couple yrs ago but I guess market is down a bit on them now...

I think 2000 bucks for the three would be fair.....So I would offer 1500 to start as well, u can always offer more..Atleast youll get a reaction and prob know right away what guy is thinking..

I always ask my customers what are you thinkin???Can u give me a ballpark number of what you are lookin to get???? Dont ever trash a guys stuff when u are tryin to buy it....When guys bash my stuff I am selling I lose all interest in selling it....

No - I valued the Joust pin at $2500 and the arcade games at $500 for the pair. I buy pinball machines all the time and the average condition Joust pin is worth $2000-$3000 all day long. If you don't want the Joust pin I will buy it.

I don't care if it's working or not. What I do care about is if it's a complete game. Fixing sys7 boards is easy.

I could be wrong, but I have not seen a Joust pin sell for less than $4k
in well over two years. I saw several sell on eBay for $4500+ in 2008.

I bought a very nice one (no PF wear) for $4500 three years ago
http://www.arcade.chezsuys.com/Joust.html

[ NB. I've reluctantly put it up for sale recently to finance other projects,
but I'm not desperate to sell it because I likely won't find a nicer one anywhere .
I'm looking to get what I bought it for... ]

So that said, I don't think $2000 for a non-working Joust pin
with good cosmetics is too far-fetched.
Board repair or replacement would likely not go much beyond $300-$400
so you'd be looking at a smoking deal at that price.

As for the vids, I figure $300-400 each .

So I'd say $2500 for the lot is a good/fair price.
$2000 would be a very good deal.
$1500 would be a total steal.

Good luck...

When "Joust: Return of the Egg" come out in theaters next year, the values of these games will skyrocket.
