I'm more into collecting games from the early to mid-80's, so I thought I'd see what folks thought the value of "Ikari III: The Rescue" (1989, SNK) would be?

It's in nice physical shape, and I've done a cap kit on the monitor. All of the buttons have been replaced, and the joysticks are both working great.

Thanks!

I am sure it is somewhat subjective to area and want of the individual.

I would think an Ikari could fetch $200-$300.
Over that would be a bonus in my opinion.

As tron guy said I would expect anywhere from $200 to $350, the latter if it is in really nice shape. That is a mix between what I've seen them sell for and what I might pay for one if I were looking to add one.

Ikari III sucks. No I'm not trying to be an ass. I own an Ikari III and it is not desirable and nothing like Ikari warriors or Victory road. The only reason to own an Ikari III is to put next to your Ikari Warriors and victory road to finish the set. There are plenty of Ikari III boards, bezels and marquees out there to make the parts next to worthless. The only true value in an Ikari III are in the monitor and joysticks. Assuming the joysticks are the original hexagon SNK rotary sticks. No I'm not advocating parting a game but this one is far from a classic and would not be missed if it were parted. I'd say this is a $100-$150 game tops if it's in mint condition and you plan on keeping it. If you're looking to flip this don't spend more than $50 including price of gas or you will probably lose money on the deal.

I think the value would be VERY subjective to the cab. Since this was a conversion in most things, I have seen it in dedicated 19" HS-1 dynamos which could probably go 100-150 if all the art work was there and it was 100%. I have also seen these in nice 25" HS-5 cabs which would kick the price up to 150-200. Its worth that much considering theres about 9 other games that use the LS-30 rotary joysticks and are jammas and that the monitor can be swapped between vertical and horizontal fairly easily. That being said, if this was in some ratty POS 19" cab, I probably wouldn't pay more than 75 for it. If you need a spare board, I have one that I always meant to find a cab for but never did. I think I was asking 35 plus shipping. Personally, I liked the game(which is why I own the board), but the fond memories I had for it didn't sink up well with the last time I played the title at the auction. But then again, I think the controls were buggered up on that one. Best of luck in the acquisition.
