Someone has a high speed pinball for sale that they asked me to make an offer. I have yet to see pictures or see what type of condition it is in. What would be a fair price to offer? Lets just assume it is in average condition and could use some sprucing up.

My buddy is wondering the same,

Being that game was pretty popular, you can plan on it having some playfield wear at the least. I have passed on ones for between $600-$800 that have needed some work, so I would kick 'em hard at $600 and see what happens...

Here is some photos. He says when he turns it on, all the lights light up but the lcd says "adjust" Not sure what that means.

If the coin door is closed, and the batteries are dead, you'll get an "adjustment error" message.

Im guessing old batteries. Possibly a bad battery holder also. If you buy, take the batteries out asap and replace with new(replace about once a year). Might want to look into remote battery holder.

Really hard to tell from the photos what kind of wear is present. Dont really see any though. Im guessing the playfield is covered in mylar. $600 would be a great starting point. Worst they can say is no.

I had one awhile back with a really nice playfield. I ended up doing a cash plus trade for parts deal but i was asking $900 I believe.

he will sell it for $950 he said. He replaced the batteries and got it working. Not sure if I want to spend that much on it. This isn't one I have been looking for. I was just looking for a cheap first pinball game.

Where are you located? I run in to stuff all the time that isn't for me, but would be happy to pass it your way if you're close....

If it isn't a pin you specifically want, that is probably high. If it was a game you really like (and High Speed is a game I really like), I would say just pay it and enjoy playing it. I hear about a lot of cheap pins here on the forum, but when looking for a specific one, I have never seen it. I payed $750 for my High Speed a few years back, and had to put a lot of work into it. I haven't seen one for sale locally as nice since then. If I hadn't bought it, I might still be looking.

It is located in Lancaster, PA and he sent me a message saying it was going up for auction today but he might still take $950. I bought stuff off of him before that he had listed.

I doubt it will pull more than $950 if auctioned. Yeah, I tend to be a little cheap on purchasing pins but still keep my offers fair. I think $800 would be my max on that one....

yea you are right, it is the one listed for $900. I would maybe spring for it if I had the extra money lying around, but i would almost rather save up more for something I like better like addams family, terminator 2, hook, tales from the crypt or lethal weapon.
