Saw a gauntlet dark legacy 4-player upright arcade in excellent condition for $400. Should I jump on this?

I've seen a few on CL for $500 in amazing condition... They sit for a while but eventually sell so $400-$500 is a good price. There's one right down the road from me in close to mint conditon for $500.. I'd own it if I had room and $500. =(

I seem them locally at the 300 to 500 mark.
400 seems inline in the LA market not a deal but a fair price.

If you do buy it be careful moving it around it a hard drive based arcade machine.

If it has the a solid state drive that is another 40 or 60 dollars you do not need to spend.

is it an actual dark legacy, with the afro woman and jester on the sides?

From everything I've ever read there never were "real" dark legacy cabs, only conversions from Legends. The cabs shown on the flyers with the sorceress/jester were never actually produced. If so, I don't think I've ever seen one. :-/

huh, i guess it's my memory playing tricks on me? The control panel overlay was different though right?

All the ones I've seen (including my own) have conversion art for everything except side art. They even have a "M" decal to cover the Atari logo (since DL is Midway).

And make sure you look at the monitor really good preferably starting it when its been off for some hours and then watch it on after 1/2 hour or more. Demogo and other on here have been saints helping me with my research to pick one up.
