I know it's not a super rare game or anything, but wondering if I'd be over-paying or not. $350 non-working, needs a PSU. Saw the game boot up in another cab with a working PSU, so that's not a concern. No burn-in, Marquee, Bezel, and CP art all in super condition, the cab's really decent looking but the side art is trashed and discolored. Some new green T-Molding, a coat of white paint, and some fresh sideart would make it a 9.5/10 cosmetically. Anyhow, I offered $250, guy said he's $309 into it between initial cost and board repair last year. Told 'im I'd meet him at what he was out, he came back with $350 and I'm just making sure I'm not paying through the nose or anything! As well as making sure that the PSU won't be difficult to obtain.

Not working? I think you over paid for sure then.

I usually pay between $75-$150 for dead Galaxians (complete, both cocktail and uprights). They are worth maybe $200-$350 working.

Ugh. Well, that's why I asked before replying to that $350 offer. Guess it's just plain impossible to find decently priced cabinets in Maine. Time to politely decline and keep on searching it seems. Thank you both for your input.

I paid 450$ for mine, did I overpay?.maybe. I think a lot depends on the market in your area. If you expect a working cab to come along soon then just wait it out. But if you don't think one is going to show up then pick it up. Try telling the guy how much money you're going to have to put into it then he'll probably come down in price.

Not a grail, but I do have Galaga, and would love to get this and a Gaplus on each side of it in my basement.

The market in my area's pretty much dead. Very little pops up for sale, and when it does it's either in terrible condition or is leagues beyond a sensible price (there are guys on my CL that ask 1600 for beat up golden tees etc). I'm going to go to that arcade auction in Baltimore in August, so hopefully I'll find a few nice things. Guess I'll think a bit more on the Galaxian at this point.
