If I could acquire one complete (except the machinery for Rudy's eyes I believe) and partially working with a nice cabinet and playfield (pf might have been CC'ed, saw the table but forgot all the specifics), what would an approximate value be these days? I think it would be around $1800, maybe a little more if I buy some stuff from him like boards, plastics, etc. Seems steep to me since the machine will probably suck down a lot more money getting restored, but I do like this game and could probably make this into a nice one.

I would think more like $1500. "partially working" could mean a $20 fix or a $200 one. Seems you can find nice ones for 2K. Not worth dumping much money into it at $1800.

When he quoted $1800 off the top a while back I'm not sure if that meant with a new plastics set, LED display, and fully working CPU he picked up for it. If it does and the pf is clear coated then I'm probably very interested. If not then it becomes much less attractive since he'd probably want more like $2300 for the package and I'd probably still have several hundred to spend on bits n pieces. :/

Playfield is clearcoated? As in original diamond plate? Get it if so, it's early production. The $2300 plus a few hundred isn't worth it. Better off to find one 100% working.

when I was looking into buying a fun house about a year ago I found 4 or 5 fully working player machines for around $1500. None were beat up or needed a new playfield but they could all be restored if someone wanted to. Although IMO restoration was not a necessity.

Looks like it would be $1500 as is, and he will sell me stuff he bought at his cost (nice, fw CPU, new plastics, led display, etc). I think I will check it out again. It had potential, and Houston can be a shitty market for pins.

i saw 2 working ones recently for sale....one was in great shape and supposedly worked 100% it was $1800 OBO and the other one said it needed gone by the weekend working but dirty for $1500.....
someday i would like to find one......im tired of hearing how much of a great game it is.....and i have never ever played one!!

my friend has one that has been for sale for years and he wants $2200 for it and it doesnt work 100 percent.....theres a problem with rudys head. but this guys prices are wayyyy high.
he wanted $1100 firm for a baywatch that needed a new dot matrix and had ball launch button problems that he couldnt get fixed right

I think $1660 with the led display is fair. Beyond that I could just take the nw CPU and see if it looks salvageable. But for $200 for a like new CPU and $110 for plastics I may take the ez way out and sell the leftovers to recoup a bit.

Did you end up picking it up? Like you said, Houston can be a shitty market for pins. :(

If you can't find a cheap one non-working it's damn near impossible to get a good deal.

Gonna go check it out again and make a final decision near the weekend. He is giving me first dibs before he puts it on Craigslist, probably because I gave him what seemed like a pretty good price for his South Park pin.

I figure it's this or I buy one for like $3000-4000 from a local pinball outfit, and I'd rather sink the extra into a repro playfield and cabinet graphics or something.

Sigh why can't the pin market here be like in CA? or AZ? :S

If you picked it up, I just did a ton of work on a FH and can provide so assistance if you need. It is a great game. Here is a bit of what I repaired on that machine.

KLOV has lots of funhouse experts.

I cannot wait to own one of my own some day.

Thanks for the link. I forgot just how cool that game is, need to see stuff like that to hype me up.
