i've been wanting an EM game for a while now and there's a sea raider that popped up near me on craigslist:

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/clt/1334620935.html

what's a good price on one of these? i really don't have a clue, but i'm assuming it's nowhere near the $1K asking price in the listing.

and i've never played this particular game before. for those that have, or for those that own this one, is it fun? replayability?

oh, and as i've never owned an EM before, is there anything in particular i need to know? are they prone to breakdown? if they do, are they easy to fix?

thanks in advance.

Sea Raider is a cool game, we had one at the NW Arcade show this year. I'd say price can range from $150 to $600 depending on the market and condition

Maintenance is pretty straight forward, just switches to align and coils to maintain.

I agree with the $150-600 range in price. Looks like someone repainted the cabinet; which, if they did a good job then that's a plus. But I think they're taking it a step too far in asking $1K for it. It is a cool game. Its basically the prequel to Sea Wolf; I think this one you have a certain number of torpedoes to fire, not a time limit like on Sea Wolf. I played it once about 4 months ago and I liked it. The particular machine I played wasn't in good shape but it was fun. I'd suggest go play it and if it works good and you like it then hell offer him $500 for it. He'll never get $1K; I'd be shocked if he did in this market...

thanks, fellas. it's about 3-4 hours away from me, so i'd probably be pretty close to committing to buy it before i left the house (like only backing out if there was something crazy effed up with it once i got there).

i think i'll email the guy and see if he can get me some more pics.....if it's as nice as it appears in that one photo, maybe i'll offer around $400 or so and see what he says. i agree that he's not gonna get $1K for it, but if that's what he has his heart set on he may laugh at my offer.

yep, the machine is mine and 400 will not buy it. i have a lot of time and labor into restoring the cabinet. plus the game had issues that i repaired. good luck.
