Price check for Addams Family

Yeah, I have never seen a working one go for under 2500. Normal price for one that is not beat to pieces seems to be around 3k. Beat up, magnet burn, mansion wear, closer to the 2500 mark.

I'll probably get called out if I try to sell my Addams at some point...but I bought mine last year for $2400. It came w/ Pinball Pro speakers installed, some of the mods (Fester, the brass toys), generally in nice shape. I shopped it out, fixed some things, added a few more mods.

I remember when I first started going to auctions (about 7 years ago) ...there were 2 Addams for $1400 and $1600. Man...I wish I had gotten into pins when they were less....then again I didn't have the room or repair know-how back then!

If I sell mine I'd be asking 4g's Canadian. Fully restored, including sideart, new ramp, rebuilt pops, flippers, etcetc. Not gonna find a nicer example really...doubt I'll sell it though, unless I get laid off from work or something..

There was one locally for sale at an estate auction. I thought to myself, maybe I can get it cheap if nobody knows about it. LOL Yeah Right.. It went for something like 4200. This is the only game my wife want's so we decided to put a little back each pay for it and someday buy it as our retirement gift to each other.

If you could save $100/paycheck, you could own one in 2 years. No need to buy as a retirement gift. You're only 28 right?

TAF is an excellent machine, I really, really, like it. In fact, it's one of the few games that I feel deserves it's price tag. However, I think you're looking at around $2,800 for a pretty decent one right now, so if you're patient you shouldn't have to pay the $3,000+.

Totally my opinion, but I think Twilight Zone is better in regards to staying power, theme, and challenge. TAF is a crowd pleaser almost like no other, though.

You've got that right.

When a couple of my (pretty non-gamer) friends heard I was thinking about getting a couple of pins, the first thing they asked if one of them was an Addams Family.

Seems like everybody knows that machine.

I get bored of my Addams sometimes ...but my girlfriend loves it, so it's stayin'!

Hi
New to this BBS.

Could be game prices vary by area of the country.

About a month ago we decided we wanted a TAF. Found one at a "retail" home game room store for $ 4100.00 - FIRM price. Found another at a route location - everything worked but visible wear on the playfield (specially around the Mansion) and sort of beat up cabinet and operator said $ 3200.00 his FIRM price then found a 3rd one about 40 miles away described as very nice with FIRM price of $ 4400.00.

So we went out of our minds via a auction and had to shell out $ 3500.00. The game is VERY nice. Playfield shows no wear, no need for a "cliffy", practically perfect cabinet including all art, new topper, new chrome legs, the "better" mods and very clean boards and once we got it home and set up we decided we for sure did NOT get a steal of a deal BUT we did get a very, very nice TAF for the money and are pretty confident that if we ever decide to sell it we can get our money out of it - or very darn near.

I'm sure if we were patient and kept our virtual ears tuned to the various CLs and various BBS we could have found a nice one for less but this one is REALLY nice.

Not sure if I posted truly On Topic but price wise the above is what I could find in about a month in F. Florida.

Thanks for the replys. I posted this because an operator in kansas city said he had 3 machines and that I could take the best of the 3 for $3,000. I have bought several machines from this operator over the years and never had trouble with any of them. Just wanted to check and see if his prices were still reasonable or not.
