I invite EVERYONE to please put on your big ass price police badges and price police the hell out of this for me. Yes - I am asking for this so no need for the mods to get huffy. I think it's time for some brutal honesty. I'm an internet tough guy - I can handle it heh. Let's have some fun with this thread and see just how different or a like we think. Please be your own man and not follow someone else because of what they think. It's ok to disagree contrary to others beliefs :).

DK3 cabinet, NOS side art applied, cabinet unrestored a 7 out 10, a nice ALMOST zero burn 20EZ rebuilt, boardset has issues (has Brasington HS kit), bezel has a few light scratches that Novus would clean up otherwise super nice, marquee nice shape, coin door restored and CPO in very nice shape as well.

What's it worth to you as a complete machine?

Now price it with a working boardset.

Now part it out price.

Now price it if it has a petrified cat turd in the bottom (just kidding there)

/and a little sumpin' for the filter

I'd easily pay $500 with a working board set and all the other items you mentioned if it was local and a game I wanted. Not a game you see often around here for sale.

$350

Now part it out price. Depending on condition:

PCB (working with cage) $70-80

Control Panel (populated) $50-60
Harness $20-25
PS $20-25
Monitor $70-100

Cab (w/ complete side art) $50-80

Now price it if it has a petrified cat turd in the bottom (just kidding there). Poor condition:
$150-200

The game itself blows but is the rest worth more because it would make a great red cab DK?

DK3 was only a conversion kit so not all of them came in red cabs. They also came in Blue and Orange. I'm guessing a lot of DK3 cabs are also in painted red cabs, not original Radarscope.

Oh I see, It would honestly be not be on my list of "must haves" due to game play alone.

Nice condition as described, complete but non-working board = 150.00 max (non-working really reduces value IMO)

Same but working board....300.00 max

Parting out: $400-ish if you get top end.
(Desirable) Red Cab 50.00
Power supply 25.00
Kit (Harness,Marquee,bezel,CP,PCB) 180.00
Coin Door with hardware 40.00
Sanyo 20EZ Monitor 125.00

Your time and effort packing and shipping parts ?$?

I paid $250 for mine 2 years ago, but wouldn't pay that in the current market, in this area at least. I would say maybe $200 for someone that likes the game or just has to have a full Nintendo row. Add $60 for the sideart - only if the sides do not need to be repainted. subtract $100 for the board. Add $30 for the kit (it needs to be a deal, otherwise the buyer might as well buy a new one).

So that would be $190 as is, $290 with a working board. As with 99% of the games, it is worth the most parted out. The restored coin door will fetch $50 by itself, but I don't think it adds much, if any, value to the cab. A good coin door is break even; a bad one would drop the price a little. I am glad I am not trying to earn any money in this hobby, because it would be hard to justify not parting out a lot of these games.

Last year would have been the time to sell this one. It seemed like everyone had to have one for their row, but then they actually played the game. A lot of them were resold pretty quickly. Mine actually belongs to my girlfriend, or it would have been gone a long time ago.

I would have left the sideart uninstalled so the cab could be restored first. My DK needs some work, and even though it came with NOS sideart, I still haven't put it on - it has been almost 2 years. Someday, maybe.

Like I said in your other thread, I think trading is the best option with a lot of the games.

BTW, I reread my post over there, and it sounded a bit rude. It definitely wasn't anything personal, but it might have come across that way; we just have completely different expectations of buying and selling on cl.

Some of us are poor and learn to fix things so we can buy cheap. I have been a student the whole time I have been collecting (2 years), so price is always a huge issue. I have yet to pay $300 for a game, although I have come close with Tempest and Offroad. When I hear some of the prices people pay for these, it is shocking to me. I have just had a completely different experience.

My $50 Millipede just developed a ram error - I want a refund!!!! :)

complete but non working $75-100
Working machine $350-400
Board set $75-100 shipped
Part out
$150 for bezel, marquee, populated cp, board set.
Side art (NOS not applied of course) $75-150 shipped
Monitor $50-75
Empty cab $25-50
Coin door $50-75 shipped
Wiring harness $40 shipped
Ps $30 shipped
Marquee brackets, bezel bracket ect $35 shipped
Total low $455
high $605

Of course my prices include shipping so you'd have to subtract the cost of shipping to find the real profit you would make parted.

Price with cat turd would be same as working machine price unless this was a super rare 1981 factory cat turd that came original with the machine upon purchase. If so I would add at least $50 to the value of the machine.

well i for one love the game however my to score so far is 88200. maybe after i practice a little i might try and set the record? I just need to be more patient when spraying the damn donkey kong. however in the 2nd stage i do this no look maneuver where i just press up on the joystick and just keep button mashing and get past it in like 8 seconds flat lol. great game and loads of fun for me. id say $400 workable and $150 non working
