Price check - Defender upright prototype in average condition

The title really says it all. I'm trying to figure out what the "going price" is for a working defender in average condition with the original prototype artwork on the sides.

I don't know how many they made like this...a lot? a few? one?

I appreciate your help...

I would like to see pictures. I have sold 3 defenders in the last few months. all were nice. $400-$500 is about the going rate for a nice one in my town.

Is the sideart is painted???

I would say one of the protos is worth almost double a regular one...so if an average Defender sells for $350, an equivalent condition Proto should get around $700....maybe $650.

Would you be sure to get the serial number please and post it? There are supposedly only 5 of these in existence and I know of 3 so far. I've personally placed hands on 2 of them. Thanks

Please do send your SN and a picture if possible to Andy, he's trying to keep track of them.

To clear up a little confusion, the tie fighter art is on the prototype/test machines, but they also put the same art on "sample" games which they sent out to distributors (and maybe the very first production games). The production number is not high, but much higher then 5 total machines.

As far as price, it's going to come down to what you and the buyer agree on, it's not like these sell all the time. I paid much more for mine then I could get out of it, but I passed on several cheaper ones looking for the "right" one. I don't think many people know these games exist, and the people that do, don't value them very highly.
