Price Check - Dedicated 4-Slot Neo-Geo

Yup...dealing with a liar as well. Dude responds to my $300 offer with "No go, local Pawn Shops have offered $450."

Sure thing bud.

Heh, that is a crappy lie. If I had a local pawn shop offering that kind of fundage for generic games, I would have funded a Medieval Madness by now!

In reality, a pawn shop would have offered him $150 or less.

Seriously, you should write him back and say "Really?? Why didn't you take an offer $50 less than your ask???"

I did respond telling him to jump all over that offer...

...and when I see him advertising for $400 in a week or two it will be REAL HARD not to ask him why he's not sold it to the multiple Pawn Shops who've offered $450.00.

This is the same douchebag who told me it was worth "$1,200-$1,500 on ebay" when he was selling for $800... and didn't respond when I asked why he wasn't selling it on ebay then.

Well will wonders ever cease? Guess who just emailed me 34 minutes ago...yes... it was Mr. $450 offer from the local PAWN SHOPS guy...

well if you are willing to give me 350 it yours but it has to be today

:49:

it just so happens that I am picking up $350.00 for another cab today... but I think I am going to ignore this one out of principle (is that the right principal?)

BUT - Do I really need it? This is a sickness. A real sickness. If I were loaded (edit: and a bachelor), my house would look like Karls.
Nice, I love how I am almost always now the definition of sick, twisted and crazy... :D

On the "well if you are willing to give me 350 it yours but it has to be today "

Klov him down, I'd reply with "$300 cash today, after thinking about it some more its not a must have on my list." Sounds like he needs the cash today and will do it pretty much no matter what. $350 is a fair price if its a nice 4-slot cab...

Tell him you will take it for $350 if he agrees to pay a $200 service fee for making you deal with a douche bag.

I hear ya'... I really enjoy my Neo-Geo, its a cool system with some good games on it. I understand principal and religiously believe in it, but sometimes if I can ignore my rules if its something I want and the price is right. Some of my best deals would not have happened if I didn't back off of my principals of a-hole sellers! :)

We think alike Karl... my response to him was: "I'm delivering a Centipede cab to Meridian today.... let me think about it. That cab isn't really worth more than $300 to me... what were the games again? (he's actually never told me the 6 games).

So I've set `em up for the $300 offer...but if the games are good, I'll do the $350.

EDIT: Or not...I'm back and forth on this one. If I didn't have so many cabs already...

Maybe I am crazy, but $350 seems like a lot for a 4 slot MVS. Of course if the guy I bought mine off wanted $350 I might have bought it. Of course I was buying 2 other cabs at the same time so money was streched thin.

Ohhh, I want a Nam '75, its like Cabal with better graphics! (I like Cabal from B.I.T.D.)

No really super killer games there that are worth a pocket full of money, but if the cabinet has nice artwork and solid I think its worth $300.

I agree that Neo-Geo's aren't worth a shit load of money... BUT, when you come across something that is normally torn to shit in the wild but the one you're looking at is 8+/10 condition, THAT IN ITSELF IS WORTH A FEW HUNDRED EXTRA IN MY BOOK!

all relatively fun games, but none really add to the value, none are rare... Samurai Shodown, isn't worth anything, TPG, 10 bucks, the rest maybe 20 bucks each, so yeah no real value added...Unless I'm mistaken, those are all early titles though(early 90's), makes me wonder if this hasn't been sitting somewhere for a long time...most Neo's would have newer carts if they were used on location.

If it's in 8/10 condition or better, and monitor and controls all work great, hmmm, maybe $350...
