What's a dedicated 4-slot Neo-Geo go for these days? Fully populated + 2 extra games.\

EDIT: The x-i -1 Neo-Geo carts... will they work with a 4-slotter?

The xxx-1 should work on the 4 slot, especially the newer ones, there was some talk that the older ones didn't work well... Check with Nixs to make sure, but I haven't heard anyone having issues with them in a while...
Price, depends on condition, included games.
I'd say a few hundred, maybe 400-500 on the top end, in good shape with good games, good monitor etc...
Seems that the market has gone down a lot on Neo's in recent years, and bargains galore are out there to be had...

I've watched a local go from a laughable $800 to a more reasonable, but still up there $500... My MAME cab runs Neo-Geo titles PERFECTLY and as a bonus, saves high scores... but running off the real hardware is always preferable and the cab itself is pretty cool. This one looks to be in decent condition. A few months back I'd offered him "$300 if it ever got to a point where it needed to be gone...". Perhaps it's time to re-consider and bump it to $400 based on the photos... actual condition, of course, would dictate price.

BUT - Do I really need it? This is a sickness. A real sickness. If I were loaded (edit: and a bachelor), my house would look like Karls.

EDIT: I just offered an interesting trade... I think the guy's looking for cash, but he'd probably have an easier time selling my trade offer than the Neo-Geo around here... I just offered a straight swap, my 48-in-1 Multicaded Jr. Pac conversion cab for the Neo-Geo...

He'll likely pass though.

Last year I have seen some 4-slot machine for go for $250. No more than $300 in good conditions with nice screens. But it also depends on the games too.

IMHO, he'd be a fool to pass on that trade...
That being said, I'm pretty sure Neo's save high scores. I love my dedicated 2 slot neo gold, got it for $149 a couple years back. I should pick up one of those XXX-1 carts too, not sure why I haven't... Oh I remember why, it didn't have Magician Lord on it, and I was waiting to see if the new one did, have to look into that again...
In this market, unless the cab was perfect, and the monitor like brand new, I would probably pass for anything more than 350-400... depending on location, but lately it doesn't seem like that's been much of an issue for you Idaho guys... lots of games popping up out there...

I'd say $300ish tops, and your proposed trade seems pretty poor for you, unless multicades are worth very little where you are.

Yeah...it'll probably still be available then too. I'm waiting on a 100v transformer to get the 48-in-1 out the door. I'd hate to sell it like it is and have it blow the monitor chassis down the line.

Picked up a huge-ass 4-slot cab up with working 25" monitor and 7 game cartridges off CL for 150.00 some 6 months back. That could be on the low end though as I flipped it for more money.

Yup...dealing with a liar as well. Dude responds to my $300 offer with "No go, local Pawn Shops have offered $450."

Sure thing bud.

I wouldn't even buy his game. Let him sit on it forever. :) Just keep an eye out for a dynamo cab to stick one in unless you really want a dedicated MVS cabinet.

I found out the hard way that dynamo cut corner cabs will not house a 2 4 or 6 slot NG board. No way that board is fitting in there with carts sticking out...

I'm not sure I follow. I have a cut corner cab sitting beside me and there is a ton of space in that thing. I don't have the pullout drawer version though so maybe that's the difference?

I would say anywhere from $150 (needs work) to $500 for a nice clean one with a 25" monitor. Also games would come into play, most carts go from $20 to $50 unless you have some good games in there, like Metal Slug 1 or 3, and some of the more high end carts.

I am into the Neo games and such though so I would probably pay more for a nice cab then most people here. I got mine for $150, but its not the nicest cab out there either and I had to cap the monitor and have the tube rejuvenated. Plus the board had a RAM error which I've yet to fix, ended up putting another working board in it.

That's probably what he meant...on the pull-out drawer version, there is only about 5" of clearance from the tray to the bottom of the monitor bezel wood as you're pulling out the "drawer"...

Oh, yeah, there's a ton of room, but mine has the pullout drawer. No real way to fit in the MVS mobo without removing/gutting the drawer.

Did they all have drawers at one time? Someone offered me a drawer for mine, but I didn't know if it would work in there.

Thanks
