PRICE CHECK!!! CYCLONE 1985 pinball......fun to play?

anybody know what a cyclone goes for. i have heard some good things about these. i can find one really close to me for very cheap but im not familair with the game. supposedly it has a problem shooting the ball into the plunger lane? (something i never fixed before). i saw the machine before and its in great shape.

are these games fun to play?

do they have any common problems?

thanks in advance
dave

Definitely a fun one - a Williams System 11 classic, IMO.

Average price is about 1200 bucks - so less if there are some problems.

Bad playfield wear is the killer for me - almost anything else can be fixed more easily.

That shooter issue doesn't sound like a big deal to me, but is a nice point to reduce the price on.

Check the boards in the box carefully for leaking battery damage ("what battery?"), burnt connectors and general hackery.

I've never priced a cyclone but I LOVE the game. Fun to play. Most definitely a favorite. I would probably own one if it didn't have that creepy clown. :)

I have one. It's a cool game, not particularly deep.

They almost always have some playfield wear, usually at the top of the playfield and also where the ball drops onto the right lane.

The spinner and the ferris wheel tend to break down on a lot of these. Also, the spook house plastic is almost always broken. This can all be fixed.

I'd imagine its probably a pretty straightforward fix...Replacing the kicker in the spook house or something

The two Cyclones that I have worked on with balls stuck in the spook house had damage to the ball trough between the spook house and where the ball is placed back onto the playfield. This plastic was brittle and cracked with very little pressure on both of these machines.

Both machines I fixed by bending some thin gage aluminum and creating a reinforcement for the trough. Both machines are routed and still bring in about $50 a week since my fix so it seems to be holding.

well i think im supposed to go get this game tomarow after 5 oclock. if i get it here ill post pics......he supposed to let me know by lunchtime. looks like its fun to play and colorful

good luck. i've only played it virtually but it was really fun. definitely one i want to try and track down "in real life."

finally got the game...here are some raw pics.....sorry for the bad lighting......it was starting to get dark outside!!! i can only see 1 wear spot on the playfield and it is where the ball drops on the playfield....it is wore in a spot about less than half the size of a dime
