Price check: Cruis'n World and San Francisco Rush The Rock: Alcatraz Edition

I have the opportunity to pick up a pair of either San Francisco Rush The Rock: Alcatraz Edition or Cruis'n World and I'm wondering what they generally go for price wise.

The Cruis'n games look to be in great shape, seats in great condition, controls are solid. One monitor is good, the other needs a cap kit it looks like. These are the 25 inch versions I think.

Rush the Rock games are in even better condition physically, one monitor needs work but is working. Seats are new purchased this year. Owner mentioned occasionally the two units would become unlinked and thinks its a power supply issue. Looks like 25 inch monitors, not sure didn't have a tape measure with me.

How much do these go for and are the monitors a pain to work on? Klov.com lists them as standard resolution.. Aren't these games medium?

Which pair is the more fun to play? I like the side shifter on the seat for RTR verses CW's next to the steering wheel.

Any thoughts appreciated!!

I only know retail value but i see them around every now and again for about 500 a piece. We would sell for around 3500. The rock has alot of secret shit to find and do, whereas the cruisin series is a fun more arcadish feeling game. Depends on your taste, both are good. I would probably think you would end up with more play out of the cruisin though. Oh and the rush games can be quite the motherfuckers when they break down. Ive switched entire boardsets into another game which were working and once placed in a different game they quit. And when i put the old boards back in it mysteriously works again.

Thanks for the info!! Nice to know about the repair headaches. Any idea how they are linked together and how many? I know Cruis'n supports up to 4, but what about Rush? (Not that I'd have more than 3 I think!)

I personally like the cruisn' series better. Both are Medium res.

After playing both games for a bit I came to the some conclusion. Cruis'n is more fun. Rush has better sound, the seat shaking and more realistic.. But too realistic for a video game I think and thats where Cruis'n is more fun.

Now I just need to find a 3rd one!

Thats exactly why I like the rush games better... much more like driving a car (well, sort of)... The cruisin' games don't seem to have any link to reality in their physics models (if they have one).

to each his own I guess...

Sounds like if you like driving, get a rush...
if you like the more surreal point and stomp, get a cruisin...

I love the fact that I can take a hard 90 degree turn with no slope with the pedal to the metal in Cruisin'. It is definitely the one game I would want in a dual sitdown version. It is pure, unadulterated fun that anyone can (sometimes) excel at.
