I've been looking for a Crazy Climber, found one locally (the Nichibutsu version) that looks in fantastic shape, they are asking $2950. I know that version costs more due to rarity. Does that seem like a fair price?

Thats probably on the higher end of todays market. But at the same time...find another one lol.

You wouldn't be crazy i don't think. I myself just recently over paid for a rare game I've been looking for for years. This would be less egregious than that.

For 2025, Exidy says,

Crazy Climber (Taito/Nichibutsu)- Upright dedicated game TAITO VERSION $2000-$3000. Collector/ebay price.
Crazy Climber (Taito/Nichibutsu)- Upright DELUXE NICHIBITSU version $3500+-. Collector/ebay price.

VAG pricing is surprisingly much different. Search "crazy climber" and see for yourself.

YMMV ...

Just to confirm, we are talking about the one in the standard upright taito orange cab with grey lettering?

Yeah thats a different story. Those were made with 2 size monitors (13 and 19) and several control panel variations. I would place those well over 2000. I was talking about the normal one for 1500.

Everything you wanted to know about Nichibutsu Crazy Climber but were too afraid to ask. :)
Vids are from EIGHT YEARS AGO. WOW!!!!!

I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I have a cabaret version (not completely original) and I don't know that I'd let mine go for anything less than $3000. Is mine worth that? It is to me.

I have also over paid for games, but have NO buyers remorse. Food Fight I picked up in 2021… freakin' LOVE IT.

My little baby certainly doesn't grow on trees. After years and years of searching, I just finally gave up and realized that this one was just too rare of a bird.

Finally happened. Don't skip out on any of these if it's a game that's near and dear to your heart, and be ready to pay on the higher side.

Thanks,
Jason

I really like those Nichibutsu cabinets. Go for it if you enjoy the game and can swing it! The deluxe ones don't pop up very often, and the control panel artwork is so cool. 🧗

I had the Taito upright version years ago and was always kind of annoyed at how big it was. It just never quite fit into my lineup well, just a few inches too deep, and those cabinets are so prone to swelling.

The Nichibutsu ones look really nice!
