got a chance to pickup one of these at a decent price( should be able to get it for 200-300 range)--the guy says the screen is all scrambled--I know this is a rare game and I have never played it--but if I sink some money into it and do not like it ---would I be able to sell it pretty easy and not go into the hole--

THANKS for any input--

Your avatar frightens and scares me.

anywhoo, I have no idea on resale value, as I've never seen one come up. That said, I don't think I'd ever chance a purchase for more than $150-$200 if I knew the game was non-working, and that's only if it has cool arts.

Rare yes, but far from highly desirable, thus not a high price. I had never played this game before. I heard a friend had one so I fired it up on MAME before I went to his house to see what it was. On MAME, I didn't care for it at all. Then I played it for real at his house. I liked it a lot. One of those games where real controls mean a lot to the overall playability. And maybe his version and the MAME version I had were different ROM sets, but the colors were totally different. I liked the real version colors much better. That said, after playing it for real, I'm on the look out for one myself. From the research I've done, when one does come up for sale, they don't fetch much. Seems like $200-300 for an average. I don't think I ever saw one sell for more than $500. If the one you are thinking of getting has a PCB problem and you're worried about losing money on it if you don't like it, you probably should pass. You'll probably end up paying someone at least $100 to fix the PCB. If you pay $200 for the game as it is now and find you don't care for it, based on the history, I think you'll have a hard time selling it for $300 to just break even.

That all said, if the entire thing for you is about losing money on the game or not, then you should pass on it without hesitation and don't get yourself crazy thinking that you might lose some money on a game.
