Price check: centipede cabaret?

Id say they go for a little more than a upright. For there size. Not looks. I'd spend $200 on one. But thats just me. :)

Yeah cabarets are rare in general. They are neat on there own right. :)

Like I have said many times before, expect to hang onto it for a long time. I bought mine for 125, spent a good $50 in parts, and still had a hard time finding a buyer that would pay $350. Centipedes are a fun cult icon, but certainly not the most rare or desirable.

It's a good little machine for a cabaret version of an upright. If I had more room, I'd shell out $400 for one...but I'm collecting some rarer cabarets first (such as Asteroids, Dig Dug, etc.)

Not all of us buy games with the mindset that we are gonna turn around and sell them 2 weeks later. That's your first mistake. I have wanted one of these machines for a while, but finally settled on a Millipede cocktail. I have seen them for sale in the $250-600 range around here, over the course of 4-5 years. I have had chances to buy 3 of them in the $350-400 range, but something always came up that prevented me from doing so.

$250-400 for a nice working one from an individual is the price in my area. They go for about the same as an upright and a little less than a cocktail it seems.

Thats true. This happened to be one of the games I bought with the intent to flip and sell, because I already had my full size. However, thats when I realized that the market for Centipede wasnt very high.

It is a popular classic... that they just happened to make a whole bunch of and people like the UR for the side art over the cabaret.

I just paid $200 for mine in pretty decent shape, minus some scuffs on the woodgrain as well as a trackball that's in dying need of a rebuild. Monitor is/was surprisingly sharp but still needed a capkit, which I just did last night. I'm in the process of restoring it into minty shape. I also took a little different route and sanded/primed the sides, painted it white and will be applying the repro side art that just arrived. In the end, it'll be a mini upright. I'm excited :)

I'll post pictures once it's done, along with the frog-green Frogger I'm finishing up.

I'd like to see it. Planning something similar if it ends up looking good, but hopefully using TOG's version.

Thanks. I'm in the market for one because the wife LOVES Centipede, and I don't want to spend the floor space in the house on a full upright at this time. And it helps that I can get a Cabaret into the back of the Scion without difficulty - a full upright would require a trailer.

I'm going to Allentown and you never know what you're going to find there, so I wanted to have a good idea of what I should expect, if I run into one.
