Woah woah untested means broken :D

don't try and confuse this man ;)

However in some cases it really is untested. But more often than not, it get's used for broken crap for a quick extra buck.

Yikes --the prices have exploded if that's the case. Those ebay prices are almost as much as an entire Tapper.
Thanks for the input.

They are nothing like the quoted prices - not sure if he's drunk, confused, joking, or what...

But the last couple tested working to sell on eBay sold for $426 (repaired by cdjump), and Best Offer Accepted on Anthony's (QuarterArcade) $595/OBO - and he's a retailer, so typically 50-100% higher than collector market. Both sold in the last 30 days.

So tested working =

eBay : $425-500
Collector/KLOV : ~$350

Broken/Untested is typically half of working price.

And for the record, there is a Price Check subforum. Please use it :D

I'm going to guess, it's because I'm not using the correct sub-form. I got a phony answer. Which looked pretty legit at the time ... Guess that's what I get for not knowing about that particular subform. I'll use that next time.

Thanks

Edit: Ok, I see it now, it's just above the Feedback section.

Wasn't joking.

Those were my best guesses.

If prices aren't at those values yet... Give it a little time.

Tapper pcbs are hard to find and prices are only going up imho.

Just because you're probably right, doesn't mean we can't be in denial..

I liked it better just writing you off as a crazed drunk.

best advice is to test it. If you have another mcr 3 game, you can just plug in the power and video and see what it does. If you can't do that, maybe you could send it to cdjump for testing and/or fixing. A verified working boardset if worth the effort. tapper is not a flavor of the month game, its going to keep where its at or go up in price.

It would be cool if there was a pcb price range guide that was updated every so often with prices of them categorized 1. not working/untested, 2. partially working, 3. tested/working. Kind of like Exidy's game price guide, although I know it would take a lot of work & time/research to do so.

Why would anyone list as untested if hooking it and testing could make them more money? Are people that lazy? No joke/sarcasm I would like to know.

because it not jamma. its mcr 3 and its custom. to fully test it, you either need to spend time building a test rig for it or have a cabinet to test it in. so its understandable that Tapper pcb could be untested. Not everyone has an mcr game. There are tons of non jamma games that are not worth testing. But when a boardset is worth $300-$500+, its worth the effort. Sometimes you can can get lucky and buy an inexpensive jamma adapter. Other times its going to be a hassle.

Its when you see people selling untested jamma boards that you should probably know better. especially when they also sell jamma stuff listed as tested.
