Hey all,
I have a couple leads on some less than common games. The first is a Budweiser Tapper with missing sound. The second is an Atari 720 degrees complete but nonworking. I have a sneaking suspicion its the monitor but may be worse. I'm no expert on either game and I can't really say I'm a fan either. So what are these worth in the current market. Keep thinking they might be worth snagging. Thanks.

720 is always more than just the monitor.. I have found that the monitor is usually working(usually everything else is bad).. Now the monitor might be burnt to hell, but thats a different story...

If you can't hear it working, you should get it cheap. The boardset is usually the problem. You can loose one of the left or right sounds as well as speech. If your board is not working good luck finding a spare. Plus the controller is usually all messed up, the power wiring to the pcbs is usually smoked, and the cabinet graphics are usually bad..

Now if you can get 720 working, its probably worth $750-$1250 depending on how nice. Not working with no proof of life, I would think $250-$500(if the cabinet is mint with art and not faded CP).

Tapper, working is worth $750-$1250. Cabs fade really bad. Marquee glass also flakes really bad.. Audio problem is not an easy fix, but atleast its mostly working.. I would say $400-$600.

Now if its the full color side art tapper its probably worth more. I think that side art is ugly and would pay less for it, but someone probably would give you more for it. I would guess +$250.

Of the 2, I would grab tapper. Its will appeal to a wider audience(Plus you might like it). If not it will be easier to sell/trade.

Good assessment and I'd agree on the prices...maybe a little high. I didn't have an issue repairing my 720 controller, so it can be done. Rebuild kits are out there, and usually you just need a new leta chip, which Atariscott has a few. El Dorado can fix the boards if they're bad (they did mine) and Chad can repair the chassis if needed. However, if it's not a keeper for you, you're not going to make any money on it. That being said, I picked up my non-working one on eBay for $95 (dont ask about shipping), so if you could get it for $200 with a monitor with little burn, the parts alone would be worth more. Hell, I just picked up a set of non-working 720 boards for $100...just in case. The controller is at least $60-70, the monitor chassis would be about the same, and if the tube had no burn that's at least $150.

The price on 720 is 180, and the price on Bud Tapper is 900. And here is the only pic of the Tapper. Maybe you can see something I don't.

the price is right for the 720 unless the cab is trashed but honestly if I were seriously thinking of buying it I would contact atariscott first and see if he has any leta chips left. If not you are taking a bit of a gamble and hoping the leta is not bad. If it is bad and Scott is out then the only source for the leta chip is another board. You will probably be able to get you money back out of the game at that price although you would likely have to part it to do so.

At $900 the tapper only seems worth it if it's your grail. I doubt you would be able to flip it for more than he is asking so if you don't plan to keep it i wouldn't touch that one. Plus the pic shows next to nothing so the bottom half could be trashed.

you can't make much out from the tapper, but what little you can see, it looks like its not faded. I would guess pretty good shape. $900 is pretty high, it would have to perfect cab..

$180 is can't pass price on the 720.. Thats reason to go see them. Offer 900 for both if tapper is clean.

Actually, the 720 is local. Just never played the game so I'm not really a fan. I doubt that I couldn't get it going assuming the LETA chip is good (whatever that is). Like others have stated, the PCBs are a repairable by Eldorado. I will still have to think about it. Space is just too scarce to pick up a game I don't care about. And there's currently too many pins I want.

leta chip was a chip made for atari that I believe was only used in a handful of their games. 720 and on system 1 mother boards to allow the trackball in MM to work. The leta basically has to do with the control of the joystick in 720 and the trackballs in MM. Not sure if it was used in any other game but it's more or less obsolete and has not been readily available for years with no real potential for it being reproduced. So bad leta means the game is not controllable.
