600-1500 seems the range (in texas)

black knight is a classic, if you like it(2 levels) then get it, it wouldnt be a hard sell later either!

Black knight is a great pin, it's the only pin of mine that my teenage daughter will play.I say around $800 is a fair price for a good conditon one.

Price depends on condition. Black Knight has a real backglass (not a translite). It's also a mirrored backglass. How is the backglass. They do make reproductions but they are in the $250 range.

Playfield wear? Look for wear in the sword area and the green magna-saves.

If the backglass and the playfield is overall nice then it's worth the $975.

If it is all original and not worn out, has a nice glass, and works 100%, then I think $975 is decent. Not great, but decent. I am trying to sell mine for WAY more than that, but that would likely be a realistic price for a nice example.

At this point (and having had 5 Black Knight machines), I'd probably buy something else for that amount though. It is definately a classic that people tend to love or hate. I love it.

Meh. Over-rated. Hit the drops for magna-save and lock the balls for multiball. Rinse and repeat. Looks and sounds great and a pivotal point in pinball history but too easy and boring. I had one for about a month and let it go for $900.

If you're looking for a fun, good-looking two-level pin, save some money and look for a a Bally Flash Gordon. That is a tough game with lots to do and voice and strobe.

Flash Gordon would be near perfect if it were miltiball. I think Bally really missed on that, but it IS a great game. I have yet to play one where the strobe works.

Ya, multiball would have been amazing ... for the whole 5 seconds it lasts.

Yep, my strobe was burnt out and melted. It is fixable plus I believe someone is working on producing new boards. Regrettably, I sold my FG last year for some Xmas cash. Thankfully, they made 10,000 of them so they're hardly hen's teeth. I would love to have a FG with CPR's new playfield.

Back on track. Another fun and relatively cheaper, two-level pin is Stern Lightning.

Actually, I say get the Black Knight for the sake of experiencing ownership. It is piece of awesome for a couple weeks. You shouldn't have any trouble selling it for what you paid either. But make sure it works 100% and find out if the 40-pin inter-board connector has been changed; they're a pain in the @ss to replace if necessary.

Good luck!
