I don't see Berzerk listed on the Exidy website. What is the price range for this? What about one complete in nice shape except it does not work. The screen comes up garbled. I assume it needs board repair. I do not know yet how much acid damage if any.

I think it's realistic for California. It's tough to get $250 for one fully working and people pay almost nothing here for non-working games considering it can cost $150 to get it fully functional and take work/knowledge to get it there.

It's definitely a fun game though. I think I sold my fully working one here for $150 if I remember right....I'll have to go back and look. Maybe it was $250 but that was a few years ago.

EDIT: Strange....the post I was responding to here disappeared.....

I wish games here were that cheap. $50 - $75 would be lucky to buy a broken monitor here much less a complete machine.

Berzerk is probably a $250 game in decent shape. The original working bat joystick and the repro control panel are worth as much as the entire game.

I sold a working Berzerk and a Tron a few years ago - $600 for the pair if I recall.

Both weren't real pretty, but worked. The Berzerk had a horrible replacement joystick on it. Too bad RAM controls didn't stick around and reproduce that, eh?

The stick is just a desirable piece of the machine for originality-sake. That's what the game originally shipped with, but the old ones broke and arcade owners were pissed, so STERN shipped Wico replacement sticks.

what makes the bat joystick desireable?

Some collectors are picky about originality. As was previously said, they took many of these out of the games due to a high failure rate and they are fairly uncommon.

Just as an FYI, if you get this, there is a board you can buy that allows you to play Berzerk and Frenzy in the same cabinet.

The one I have actually has both complete boardsets in it, with a switch you use to toggle between the games. I have no idea how it was made but it looks fairly complex and I have never seen another one.

If your talking about the one from rick on feebay. I would guess a easy fix.
I was going to get it until I picked one up. It is in the best shape I have ever seen not restored. I think I paid about 260.
