Price Check: Bally's "The Game Show"

Good deal, I would have done the trade. Rush rocks are worth 3-400 around here.(sometimes much less) And it looks like you like smash tv so this will go right with it.
Trading a pair of max $800 RTR's for a $3000 RFM would have been a big bend over for the op. Would have been nice, but I couldnt blame them for learning the true value.

Nope, that dude is probably 4 hours away from me, but has some cool stuff.

I actually did the deal. They want the 2 RTR that have Neotech monitors, so I am happy. I am getting a couple burn free K7400s too.

The pin is in superb shape cosmetically. The cabinet has very little wear, and the playfield looks very nice as well. It's going to need a good scubbing, and I may remove the mylar. So after a rubber ring replacement, a rebuild of the left flipper (weak), bulb replacements and a good cleaning, it'll be a sweet example!

Pics later today. :)

I had a "deal" for the RFM so to speak, as it was, (him) "Hey how about 2 of your RTRs for our RFM"? It was the same RFM that I used to play at Jillians, so I was stoked, and said sure! Well a month or so has passed, and now the RFM is gone.

I figure that my Rush The Rocks are worth $500.00 a piece. While they aren't in the greatest cosmetic shape, I have absolutely fixed every mechanical aspect on all 4 machines so that when peeps come to race, we can, with no hiccups.

That would an incredible deal. RFM is one of the best pinball machines ever made. It's easily forth $2200+ depending upon condition. They routinely sell in the $2500 range and that's before being upgraded with NuCore.

Without a doubt, a RFM pin would've been a much better deal for me, but I can't complain too much. I got a clean pin, nice family friendly theme, and I swear that it actually has a couple sounds (cheering and "gasping") that Smash TV has, and that is cool!

When I have gatherings, none of the peeps are true gamers so they should enjoy this pin better than my LAH.

Game Show is a fun pin, despite the simple ruleset. And the bell is a blast! I love seeing people jump the first time they hear it.

Yep, I am enjoying it, pretty fast too.

What has to happen to make the bell ring? I have won the showcase bonanza on the way to a 9,000,000+ score and do not recall hearing it? I'll have to check tomorrow to see if it even has one...

Making an extra ball, Showcase Bonaza, 1 Million on the wheel I believe, and there may be other times. It's very obvious, and you wouldn't miss it if it rings.

It's on the left side of the cabinet, near the coin door.

It rings a lot really. Big bucks does it too.

Its also a great game for under a black light! The green glows nicely!

For the bell, first make sure it and its coil is even there and connected. Also, there is an option in the setup to turn it on/off.

Great game very fun. I still enjoy mine after about a year of playing. But, certainly not worth $1000+. I picked mine up for only $550 in great condition. The only thing that was wrong was a blown transistor to the displays and a broken wire on the truck targets. IMHO, not worth 2 Rush games. 1... maybe?

Yes indeed, the bell was there and so was the coil, just had a wire cut. Seems somebody didn't like it and also didn't know that it could be turned off via the software.
A little solder action and now the bell is working as it should :) Nice and loud too. Now I need to get some #906 bulbs for the Apllause light at the top of the back box. This is the first pin I have encountered that needs these bulbs, so none in stock.

And to the above poster, I do not recall ever seening a SS pin go for less than $600 around these parts, and for that amount you will get a project of sorts. Sounds like you got a deal.

Lighting question?

Well instead of starting another thread for this game, I'll just add the question to this thread.

So, I have gotten it all to work nicely, except for some of the lighting. Specifically, the "APPLAUSE" lights (#906 bulbs), the two gold-domed lights in the back right side of the playfield box (#906 bulbs) and all the #89 bulbs in the backbox. I believe they all should flash at some point during the game, but they do nothing at all, even in test mode.

I have checked all the bulbs and they are good.

Can anybody shed some light on what I need to look at? I do have the manual, but I can't figure out what I need to do.

Thanx

Did you close the door during test? There is normally an interlock switch that shuts off the high power when the door is open.

I did not exactly have the door shut, impossible to go through the test with closed, but I held the I-switch in as I went through the test and nothing changed.

And I have checked all fuses to be good.
