Looking for a Dance Revolution arcade for the basement. What do they go for used in fair, good, and great condition.

Does anyone know what version to get and are they easily upgraded to the newest software?

Thank you!

I'm also curious as to what is a fair deal for one. The few that I've seen for sale are priced in the thousands for great condition perfect working order. I have to think that these machines are realistically worth hundreds, not thousands.

Like anything with an annual upgrade, upgrading to the newest software will probably cost you far more than you paid for the machine in the first place.

For home use, would upgrading to newer software really be necessary?

Yeah I agree with this. I remember a few years back my friend got one from down around Philly somewhere and he paid a few grand for a nice one. All the others I've seen have been at least a grand, unless they were beat to hell and broken.

there were a few older DDR and knock-off machines at the local Tilt arcades the last couple of years that sold for $250-$500 depending on condition. they took a while to sell too. the DDR craze has gone and they are huge machines so if you hunt around you might be able to find an older one in reasonable shape for not too much money.

a while back someone posted a pic of some guy that converted one to a fighting game - no joke. Worst conversion ever! So I guess they are out their cheap if you look hard enough.

That's hilarious. xD I have to agree that would be awful.

I always thought the "knock offs" (the Pump it Up series) were better machines. The US versions had bigger screens than the DDR machines in the same footprint and the foot button layout was more natural too.

Interesting...I thought the knockoffs were not as good as DDR. Need to find one of these in the Philly area. Just want to make sure if I get one and go to the trouble of getting it setup in the basement I can keep it going and have the better of the choices out there. Thanks for all the comments keep them coming.
