Price check - 5 Omega Race board sets and 5 daughter boards

To be clear. I'm talking about 5 Omega race board sets including main board and daughter board with 5 additional daughter boards. The sets are complete with no acid damage on any of it. Batteries were removed long before they started to leak.

I bought these from an operator years back with the intention of testing and selling them. I don't have an Omega Race. I've got vector monitors but the prospect of these getting tested any time soon is pretty slim so I'm considering selling them untested. I know all of these came out of working games that were converted and the batteries were cleanly desoldered at that time but they're currently untested. There is no acid damage.

So what do I sell them for as one lot? Is this even the right forum to ask? I'm usually the one complaining about price checks. Not making them.

Your best bet is to find someone that has an Omega Race that can test the boards. They are worth a premium if they are acid free and work, but untested is not going to bring in much $$.

You need to find someone local to test these. If working, recent auctions say $250 and up per complete set. I think the extra soundboards would be about $30 each, working. I know there are a few collectors around your area that could help. Try posting in one of the .ca game forums if nothing here pans out.

I like the idea of helping a well known member here out with one of the boards as a sort of testing fee. Sounds like you could be sitting on thousands in rare working boards...

I'd like to throw my name on the list if you plan on selling them. I need a set for a repair as there is an Omega Race here that is toast. See if you can get somebody to test them in their game. Working set goes for about $250 on the forums. Acid damaged rejects not so much. Maybe $75 if you are lucky and the acid damage isn't that bad.

Drat. I was hoping for a screaming good deal on an untested board that just happened to turn out to work. :) But still interested in one, working or not. Good luck with the testing!

Sounds like you could be sitting on a gold mine. Nice to have somebody local to be able to help you test them. If it was me, I would consider buying an Omega Race just to test them.

Yeah... you and everyone else :p

Honestly, I wouldn't have let this lot go for under $600 untested and that would have been a steal. You'll see when I sell them tested and working. Shit is clean.

I could build a test bench for them if I needed to but I figured someone might be willing to give me a good buck for them based on being complete and clean. You don't see these with no acid damage very often. Turns out I just got some ridiculous lowballs which is what I was really expecting.

I'll have some tested and working for sale after Christmas. If my 5101 adapters work on them they'll also be using those (No batteries!).

If you get one or two that don't come up, be sure to reseat the EPROMS on the main board. Mine did this once, and what I described fixed it.

I hope the community is happy, these should get another handful of games working again. Heck, I'm excited as an owner to see more of 'em out there.

Thanks. I'm expecting to need to replace a bunch of sockets, unfortunately. There are a bunch of 2114s on there so that could get tedious. I was already looking at the schematics to see if I could make a 6116 work for the vector RAM but we'll see how desperate I get.

Testing and fixing these is really the way to go now that I'm thinking more about it. Some RAM/ROM hacks for this board would be cool too. Remind some people that I'm not just pinball ;)
