Someone in my area is selling a 1963 Vendo Coke machine. Seller indicates it works great but does not have keys. It seems to be in average condition for its age. What do you think is a fair price for this machine? I would like to add this to a game room and have it dispense sodas and beer. Could this machine do this? I have no experience with vending machines at all. Any help would be appreciated.

$300 sounds fair if it gets cold.

Coin mechs are a bitch to rebuild but very easy to replace.

I have Vendorlator 154 Dr Pepper machine here and love it. I paid $300 for it IIRC...

Vendo 63's are great, reliable machines. As long as it cools and all shelves are there, $250-$300 is a good price. If the coin mech isn't working, these machines set up on free vend real easy..

Cans or bottles?

It vends bottles. I went to look at it yesterday and there is a lot of surface rust but does not appear to be any holes. It was not turned on but they said it gets cold. They said it costs a lot to run and decided to use it as a show piece. Any idea how much this will cost a month to run? I guess it would run on freon. Is it pretty easy to get the machine recharged?

They also said the coin mechanism does work. When it was opened up, it seemed to be missing two or three shelves. I guess since it gets cold and coin mechanism works, I am going to purchase. Hopefully I can find some shelves to make machine complete. I think it will make a nice addition to the game room.

Turn it on while you are there and make sure it starts up the compressor & fan... and that it starts blowing very cold. If not... offer 'em $100 and slap a new setup in it.

It doesn't cost that much to run.. no different than a fridge. Maybe $10 a month... The most efficient way to use is to keep it stocked. The product helps maintain temp and and keeps the compressor off longer.

Well I ended up purchasing a different machine than I originally planned. I need some help to figure out the year of the machine. The Vendo model number on the side of the machine is 01C0630AF and it says the sales model is V63-7.

There is no key for the machine. Is there any way to get a key for the original lock on the machine? Also the person said the coin mechanism worked in the past but it is no longer functioning probably due to his grandkids. Any ideas on how to get the coin mechanism working or is there some way to set it to free vend? I have no experience with these so any help would be appreciated.

The machine is in good condition and it does get cold. I just need to get a key and fix the vending problem.

Nice machine.. congrats.. Machine is probably mid 70's. Don't see many with the copper colored coin bezel.

As for the lock, replacement keys are tough on the ace style lock. I replaced mine with a lock from McMaster. Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to write down the number. If I remember correctly, I may have modified the lock cam to make it fit on the new cylinder.

For the coin mech, whats wrong with it? Must make sure there is product in the machine for the coin mech to work. Also, if there is no money in the coin tubes, exact change is required. We can put it on free vend pretty easy if you want to go that route as well.
