Mark, I have one of these in my Frenzy and it's great!!! However, it's set to "free play" so I don't get the "coin detected in pocket" sample. Is there a way to update the ROM to do this sample even when set to freeplay?

I'd love it (and actually, I expected it) to generate that line randomly in attract mode. (Like f.i. Star Wars starts to play some music randomly, or maybe timed I don't know/care).

I was pretty surprised that it only did it after the last credit was gone...


Someone asked if the ZZPU was a complete replacement for the Berzerk hardware. (So they could hook it up to a Jamma cab with an adapter).

No. Berzerk/Frenzy hardware consists of a load of PCB's. The ZZPU is "just" a replacement for the ZPU (Main/central) board.
The reason is that this board is mostly dead because of battery leakage.

Getting ALL the hardware on one board is near impossible, especially the voice hardware would be a problem I guess.

Something I wonder (Chris ?): is the power supply lead long enough to reach the now much lower pins on the ZZPU ?

Oh man, I don't have an existing Berzerk setup. I though this was an all-in-one board.
Was hoping to just reconfigure the Stern cab I have.
