Good work keeping this thing going, dude.![]()
I'm not sure if this will help or not, but I'll throw it out there...
I will be picking up the 3 I ordered from Darin. If anyone in the lower Michigan area, east as far as Detroit is on the fence about this because of the price of shipping, I could possibly deliver. I live in SW Michigan but travel often to the Detroit area. Also, I would be willing to deliver north to Battle Creek/Kalamazoo area.
No charge, to get this project off the ground. I think it would have to be cleared by Darin first, but it might be an option.
Chris
Yes, [email protected]
That's where I sent it to. Darin asks that you add what you are ordering in the subject line
Updated totals:
Ms. Pac-Man=6 (one pending with Greg B)
Galaga=5 ? payments pending
Pac-Man=5 ? payments pending
Let's get some more payments in and get this done!
If anyone has sent any payments in PLEASE update the totals. It's getting close. Let's not let this fail...
The cost of glass went up on me a little since we tried this last year. But Im holding the price where it was. I've also lowered the shipping by $10.
Preorder prices are as follows:
Galaga $185
MsPac $185
Pacman $185
NO Super Pacman, sorry.
Prices will go up after the preorder, which ends on July 31st. I already reserved a production spot for August 19th and it will take 7-8 business days to complete. This should reduce-eliminate delays. My target ship date is first week of September.
Shipping is $40 in the 48 states. Canada is $65. All other areas by quote. Due to insurance restrictions I can only ship one glass in each box. If you order (3) or more I will allow a local pickup to save on shipping costs. I run an online business so this is an exception to my normal business practices.
Looking for 15 preorders, with a minimum of 5 for each otherwise the whole project is off. If we do not get the min. preorders I will refund all monies asap and not revisit this again.
These will be reverse screened onto tempered glass with the Midway logo.
A Two-Bit upright bezel repro with 6 colors and approx 483 sq inches is $179. A Shay Arcade group pinball backglass with varying amounts of colors and approx. 728 sq inches are priced between $275-$295. These glasses will have 7 colors (black screened twice) and approx 704 sq inches with the EXTRA cost of rounded corners. If you think the price is high then this project is not for you. A screened underlay and new cut glass will run you $100+ and thats probably the direction you need to be.
Please email me directly at [email protected] if you want to preorder. If you are within the 48 states you may paypal me $185 plus $40 shipping directly without contacting me. I will send an email comfirming your order.
Keep in mind, this is the last shot for these glasses from me.
Thanks!
Thanks everyone, we made it!
A few things. No more preorders because the price just went up quite a bit. Everyone who preordered is locked in. My glass supplier who I worked hard to get better pricing closed its doors during this preorder. I only found out today when I called to place the order. So now my glass cost just went up.
Im also waiting on a Galaga glass someone promised to ship me. Then I can order ink samples to color match. I am supposed to get it this week sometime. I have everything else I need.
Updates will be posted via email to those that preordered. I will not answer questions in this thread since I dont read the forums much. Please email me direct with questions.
Im so glad we got this done because I wasnt gonna come back to it again. btw, Ive heard a few people rip me behind the scenes saying I made a profit on this already. Hardly. I only asked for 5 preorders on a glass order of 100. If they think I profited already with those numbers they should get in the repro biz and retire early.
Cheers!
I just wanted to thank Darin for doing this, and to all that stepped up for the preorder.
But I'm a little upset at the few people that think Darin made a profit from this right off the bat. And so what if he is. He needs to make something for taking time out of his busy day to do this for us. He can't do this cheap and stay in business. I was looking around and found that Darins price is the best. It's not cheap to do this on your own. $75-80 for glass plus screening and I would think at least $100 if not more for someone to make the screens then to color match, prep the glass and do the screening, and any setup charges there might be. And do to the nature of the artwork a shop may not want to do it. So that said, the few people that had problems with this will miss out or pay more for this. There was someone here on the forums that had this done(a lot of favors) he told me $75 for the glass and around $300 for a few pieces to be done.
Again Thanks To Darin for stepping up to do this.
