Hey guys,

is it ok to leave the power switch on and turning them on and off by plugging them in and out of the outlet. Somehow this escaped me during the gameroom build as I was more concerned with circuit amperage and having enough outlets for the games. I am now realizing if I put them side by side(which is ideal) i have to pull them away from the wall to reach behind and turn the power switch on. Could I just use a power strip and turn the strip on to power them on and off? Any ideas?

You could just use a power strip or they make a remote power strip sold at radio shack.

Theres no problem using surge protectors. In fact, thats probably a better choice. I have 5 games running on 1 strip going to plug 1 on outlet 1, 2 running off another strip going to the second plug on outlet 1, and both pinballs on a third strip going to outlet 2. Eventually I am going to have a breaker system installed.

Power strips work fine. I have used the standard 6 outlet types for years with no problem. If I ever get my dream gameroom, I am going to have the game outlets wired to wall switches so I can just come in, flick a few switches and have everything on. Of course, if it ever comes to that, theres going to be a pool table, jukebox and neon bar signs too.
