I have all of mine on a surge protector and with them backed to the wall it's hard to power on only one game at at time. Since I am the only one that plays my games I'd hate to power all of them on at once. How do you guys do it?

Only one at a time, all my games have long cords that hand down in front of them, I use an extension cord and plug in the game I want to play. All my game I have a power switch mounted on the top right of the cab. I usually leave one plugged in all the time, usually it's my neo geo cab. Then I just flip the top power switch.

I have mine on banks of 4 games plugged into a power strip connected to a remote controlled outlet. The remote has 3 buttons so I can control 3 different outlets with it. Works great. I also have my vector games plugged into a power strip that has a push button selector so I can power up which ever game I want to.

I just leave the games turned on, run the cords so they set by the wall socket, and plug/unplug whichever game I want to play.

Hahahaha, this has been a kenumdrum for me... I've seen the remote things, neat idea, but I'd be pissed when the batteries died on me!

Currently I have banks of between 3 and 5, and put the power strip between two games so nobody trips on it. When I build teh dream arcade I'm going to wire that thing to hell specifically for games and plug in problems!!

i wire in a switch with the factory switch, or move the factory switch to the top right hand corner, then plug them all into a power strip. It depends on whats easier - the Punch out had gobs of stuff attatched to the switch. It was easier just to add another one in the hot leg of the cord.
PP's were easy enough to move the switch. SH was the same way.
As far as batteries, i've added remote mount battery packs to all my games- i make the packs myself out of 3 AAA energizer rechargables, and just use velcro to mount them where its convenient.

Now that looks like a great idea! I would need one remote, 10 of the appliance switches and a few short cords and I would be set!

Damnit, wtf?
I had this long reply done, hit submit, then the forums tell me to log in and that I don't have rights to the forum! grrr...

Anyhoo, now that I'm logged back in and to conserve time, yep!
That's all you need with the exception of a transceiver module to recieve the RF signal from the remote.

I switch 2 machines per modules using a power strip to the module so you dont REALLY need 1 per if you don't want to.

So shorter version:
1 remote
1 transceiver module
xx however many appliance modules

I have 20 spread across 2 breakers - I turn them on all at the same time (10 at a time.)

I picked up a couple of these from a DJ Supply guy on ebay...

$30 or so... works great! Designed for DJ lighting.

I only have one game and I gererally never turn it off. Just like my PC, which has been on consistantly since 2004. Except for the frequent reboots a Windows machine requires!!! LOL

I have a number of extension cords and a surge protector or two. Originally I had very few outlets but added like 5 so it's easier to get power, but I still need the extension cords. I never have more than 3 or 4 on at a time so it works for now.

Remote power outlets. Got them at Lowe's for $10 for a pack with three separate switchable outlets and one remote with 3 on/off buttons. THEY ROCK. I put about 3 games on each outlet, so $20 was enough for all my games (about a dozen). Best $20 I ever spent on my gameroom!!!! Basically I use one remote in each of the two rooms.
